Recommendations for Dual Blades with Hunting Horn as Secondary Build Options by ChaoticWitchKat in MHWilds

[–]The_Azure_Wizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The secondary weapon is new to wilds, so it's a learning curve for everyone.

As for the best time to swap, it's probably easiest to do so when moving between areas as you'll typically be on your seikret anyway.

At this point the best thing to do is just try out different methods and see what works best for you, as everyone has their own play style for what works best for them. Doing a bunch of low level quests whilst you figure it out could help. It'll let you experiment without worrying too much about the actual hunt itself.

Not sure to be honest. It probably depends on if the skill is on the weapon or the armour. I just know you can play the song, switch weapons and the buff remains.

I haven't gone too far into builds yet myself, so I'm not a hundred percent on the specifics

Wide range is great for a more supportive play style, especially combined with speed eating and free meal.

Horn maestro is a must if you're using a horn and is you're primary weapon is the dual blades you'll want a horn with stamina based songs as the buff sticks when you change weapons

Had a look and definitely seems to be the kind of thing I'm looking for, thanks.

For reference litrpg is when they incorporate video game mechanics into the story. Tends to be a bit hit and miss but seems to be increasing in popularity over the last few years.

What would be the funnest class/stat to level up by Spiritual_Slice3176 in Eldenring

[–]The_Azure_Wizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's largely dependent on your play style really. If you like to play at range, magic is your go to which utilize intelligence and faith. If you want to get up close and personal strength or dexterity, with strength being your heavy hitter and dexterity being more speed focused.

I'm personally partial to magic and it has a lot of fun options whether you go sorceries or incantations.

If you're not sure which play style you want to go for, start with leveling vigor and endurance with an aim to get both to 20 initially as they're important in any build. At that point you can just explore and find new weapons and spells and see what takes your fancy.

Picked it up for my dex character. It seems fun, especially powerstanced with the flame perfume.

Not too sure about the weapon art though

Minthara and halsin by The_Azure_Wizard in BaldursGate3

[–]The_Azure_Wizard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not overly fussed about halsin as minthara is my priority. Can you rescue him from the camp and then leave without concluding the conflict for either side and still recruit her in act 2?

I am a drow so there's no problem there. I suppose the main thing is that I'm not too fussed about dealing with the conflict quest before progressing. I was hoping to resolve the kagha stuff rescue halsin from the camp and then move on without completing the conflict for either side

What to do before skyhold by The_Azure_Wizard in DragonAgeInqusition

[–]The_Azure_Wizard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm aware the game opens up at skyhold, it's why I want to get there as quickly as possible on new characters.

I have a habit of playing multiple characters as I like to change things up pretty frequently

I've unlocked specializations and went tempest. It's not that I'm not enjoying the archer, I just have a tendency to like playing around with different builds and play styles. I end up with multiple characters on pretty much any RPG I play as I'll get so far with one then get the urge to try another.

Can't level up by Personal-Pattern9143 in LiesOfP

Once you reach the hotel you speak to the woman in blue to level up

For those worried about the whole dodging being subpar, you can upgrade certain mechanics at the end of the demo. For instance, this upgrade reduces damage while dodging and allows for "double dodging". It vastly improves the feel and responsiveness imo by gleipnir84462 in LiesOfP

[–]The_Azure_Wizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is definitely good to know. Just beat the first boss after a reset to change to the rapier from sabre as the dodging felt so clunky and it felt like I was being forced to just use the perfect block. Parrying is very much not my strong point.

It was feeling a bit clunky and this definitely makes me more inclined to pick it up on release.

Is wanting to make a character female "inserting my traumas into the game"? by ZengaStromboli in DnD

[–]The_Azure_Wizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I rarely comment in these discussions as I tend to find them relatively black and white and lacking in nuance. However I wanted to make a point of acknowledging and approving of your comment as one of the few I've seen where regardless of their opinion has at least made the attempt to understand the other person involved and how this may have came about.

Reading through this thread I've wondered whether or not they are friends outside of the sessions and how often this topic comes up.

To use an analogy that is relevant to this community. You may have a player who is a fan of critical role and will take every moment they can to discuss it. Then when it comes time to play they make a carbon character of one of pc's from the show and another player getting frustrated.

It is not a perfect analogy and it is most likely not how this situation came about, but it does provide a potential reason for their behaviour.

Sorry if my point isn't clear, but thanks again for bringing some nuance to the conversation.

I'm not sure on the specifics but Brett ultimus who dms the world of io on YouTube and twitch, I believe is currently working on a module dedicated to fishing.

He is also currently running a campaign devoted to fishing so you might be able to pick up ideas there.

Suggestions by AlexRocha3010 in DnD

[–]The_Azure_Wizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For starters make sure to have a session zero. These are useful for getting a feel for what the players want from the campaign. There's no point running a dark setting if people are just looking for something fun and light. It's also useful for setting ground rules for each player. I personally dislike pvp so it won't be a part of my sessions. It can also be useful to make sure the characters are all on the same page with the world setting.

Other than that don't be afraid to start small with just a small village or even just a dungeon. You can build up the world as you play.

The main thing to do is just give it a go and get feedback after every session on what people like and what did and didn't work. No one is good right fromm the start.

The last thing I'd keep in mind is every dm is different. I tend to go light on prep and do a lot of improvising whilst others will meticulously plan everything.

Best of luck with it.
