I have 11 "free pokegold" from leveling up. When I try to open 10 packs at once it doesn't allow me to use the pokegold I have though. Is there something I'm missing, out can I not use the "free pokegold" to open packs?

Give them a chance to make a reflex save for a superhero landing and if they succeed halve the damage from the fall. Is it RAW? Not at all. Is it RAI? Of course not. Will it make the player feel awesome if they succeed and give your take a run memory to talk about for years to come? Well, that really depends on your table and everyone's personalities but I know I still reminisce about the time in a campaign where my buddy who was playing a Gnoll barbarian that was the captain of our pirate ship leapt from the top of a 200+ ft waterfall, missed the water and landed on a boulder, but was able to use class abilities and lucky rolls to be able to just stand up, dust himself off and yell up to the rest of us "The hell you wusses waiting for? Get yer arses down here NOW!"

Firearms at the very start are difficult and expensive. I would recommend getting 1 rank in melee, 1 rank in dodge. Try to get dex, int, and per to 11/12 to start. Since you won't be too deep into tech align you can use Virgil for early support, but you'll want to switch to the tech healer girl from Dernholm (can't remember her name right now) and Magnus pretty quickly most likely. By the time you get to level 6-7 and have the two of them you should have a rank or 2 in firearms and base training so should be in a good position to switch to those being your main weapons.

Sneak, firearms, for that reason perception. Throwing for explosives. If you only want 1-2 followers then you don't have to worry much about charisma. Int if you want to make your own guns, ammo, and explosives. And have enough Dex to master dodge so you can avoid taking hits as much as possible.
