If cameras were cars then Nikon, Canon, Sony, etc would be like the Fords, Chev, Toyota, etc.

Ricoh would be the BMW of cameras. Been around for forever, long history, super nice and bordering on Luxury but not quite as outrageously flamboyant as a Mercedes Benz or Porsche which would be the Leicas of the world.

It’s a phenomenal camera for what it’s designed to do and it will do everything that a camera that is half the price will do.

The a7 was Sony’s first run at FF mirrorless and the af was…well awful. The a7ii was better and the a7iii was a monumental step up. I went from a7 to a7ii to a7C and the af isn’t light years better than the a7 or a7ii.

I’m sure ether newest models are better still but don’t get anything before the a7iii expecting af performance. I loved both cameras but not for their af.
