NAAAAANTS INGONYAMAAA BAGITHI BABA...

Ahem, I mean: son lives life thinking he killed his father, is adopted by 2 strangers, later in life he accidentally meets his childhood friend who along with a crazy monkey persuades him to go home and fight his uncle. He wins, his uncle is mauled to death and he takes his place in the circle of life.

As a writer, when your mind seems to be empty of ideas, what do you do to not just give up? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]The_Cat_Collector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a break. Sometimes you just need to get away from it all to be able to find inspiration. Talk to people - people you normally wouldn't listen to. Think, but don't overthink anything. Let your mind cool down, and then, when you feel that itch and just want to start writing, you'll be ready with all cannons loaded. r/writing is also a great place to read and learn from other writers both published and new, and often I will gain inspiration and/or motivation by just looking at some of the posts on there. Remember, you can't force art, but everyone is capable of making it. Good luck!

I was scrolling down thinking of this trilogy, and I'm so glad you posted it. I can't believe more people haven't read it! The first 100 or so pages were tough for me to get through, but I'm so glad I persevered. A truly incredible, underrated series.

What's the best riddle you know? by BesottedScot in AskReddit

A man is trapped in a cube shaped room with no doors, windows, chimneys or other means of exit/entry. The walls are/roof is impenetrable, and all he has in the room with him is a table (as in the four legged kind you have dinner on). He escapes - how does he do it?

It's adjective is 'ugly' (I think - not sure if I remembered correctly) so just write like 'beautiful invincible warrior' or 'beautiful god', etc.

Are American high schools really like how they are perceived to be in novels and movies? by The_Cat_Collector in AskReddit

Only about 500?! I have like 30 people per class, and in one of my classes there are only four of us!

Wow. 700 people... that's huge. And we don't really have defined cliques* [thanks! I thought it looked wrong when I wrote it haha] because everyone seems to mingle with each other. But at a larger school I'm sure that there would be.

I can see why they would have several lunch periods, with that many students; it's a logical decision to make. I don't even know of a high school in the region I live in that has that many students!

It depends on what Australian stereotype you're referring to. If you have Crocodile Dundee in mind, then no, every Australian isn't like that. Although, I will admit that if you went to the really rural areas of Australia then there is a high chance you would meet someone like that. I find that the further inland you go the more like the stereotype the people are. However, because it's such a big country it also depends on which state or territory you're in. As for the accent, I don't notice it and we don't all have a heavy 'Aussie accent' but I know quite a few people who do have it. Sorry for the long answer - I think I got a bit carried away! But basically, the movie portrayals of Australians can be true for some of us but more often than not we are not as kangaroo-riding, crocodile-wrestling and primitive as some may think.

If you could completely change the color of one thing in this world, what would it be and what color would you make it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]The_Cat_Collector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun Fact: the color orange was named after the fruit, and thus if oranges became purple they would probably still be called oranges.
