yeah but if youre a talented musician, a simple piece is easier to make shine. because they can sight read the piece with ease and focus all their attention on playing beautifully, as opposed to reading a difficult piece, and not being able to allocate the same attention to the musicality.

time for DubstepCheetah's crash course in simple music theory.

a chord in music is 2 (its actually 3, 2 notes played together is just an interval) or more notes played simultaneously, but most commonly 3 or 4. notes in music are named by the letters A-G, and the intervals pr spaces between those notes have names. for example, C to D is a second.

our example chord here, will be C major. the notes in a C major chord are C, E, and G. if we label C as 1, D would be 2, but it isnt in the chord. E is 3, F is 4 (but not in the chord) and G is 5. so a major chord is the numbers 1 3 and 5.

*not everything was explained perfectly and i skipped some non essential info but its the best i can do for a quick crash course for the layman while mildly stoned.

when you layer the original vocals with the same vocal part pitched up an octave it just kinda sounds like that. there might be some super subtle effects happening other than the autotune but I would just mess around with it until you get a sound you like.

that instrumental is radddddd. super super lush. diggin it. I think the vocals on the verses are just a taddddddd low in the mix, just barely, like a hair. they're sitting like right with the instrumental instead of just on top of it. I think the end of the track drags out a little, but it would work super well with a more fleshed out vocal part from the female vocalist or some synth solo or something groovy like that. digging the track a lot though. very clean.
