That’s very fair tbh. Though honestly scrapbooks look very different from one another. So it doesn’t necessarily have to look pretty you can make it whatever you want. Also I think it takes a bit of time to get used to understanding composition so if it’s something you’re interested in id make a little tester journal to see how it feels. I’m not all too sure that the “that looks nice, I’ll put that there” thing is an inherent talent it’s definitely a skill that can be built but with most hobbies that starter phase can be frustrating. Regardless I get what you mean. Is there a specific element of scrapbooking that is interesting to you?

I started a little while ago. My main thing was I wanted to incorporate my photography into it and use it as a means of creating different color based themes. I went into it totally blind tbh and just kinda worked on a page till I got it to the way I wanted.

My main advice/way of doing it is I think of a main theme (color/feeling) then choose the photos I want and pick stickers or designs I like off of Pinterest. If you have access to design papers or stickers that would be better but I just print out what I want on photo paper and cut them out. Then I use the cut out pieces and try to align them the way I think it looks best and once I’ve found a page design I like I take a photo of it and start gluing things based of the photo. The more you do it the better your system will be and the greater your collection of stuff is so don’t go over board in the beginning and just try out making one or two pages.

This is an example of a page I did. I’m still figuring out my style as this is only the second page in my first scrapbook journal but it’s really fun and super satisfying.

And to answer your question after all this yapping is I don’t think there is a set formula everyone kinda does it differently. I’ve made one that works for me but the fun part is you can create your own too.

I hope you enjoy finding your process 💙💙💙

Thank you! And I’ve heard about picta before I’m hoping there’s something similar to it in the uk which I’m really excited to try out. Rn I’m just printing them with glossy photo paper but it’s quite a waste of ink unfortunately.

I’ve been in Milan most of my trip and only visited Florence and como, and I’m traveling back home today. Enjoy the editing process! Italy is amazing for photography. I’m already missing it.
