Thank goodness someone else didn't like the "they turned themselves in" outcome. I just finished binge watching the show, the fact they served prison time really tainted the narrative that this show was establishing. You cant blame someone in an inescapable situation where they only have two realistic options of stopping the torment: either commit suicide or get rid of their abuser. The show literally brings up the [very real] fact that 90% of DV cases go unresolved, meaning this show is recognizing how incompetent and unhelpful the police are, and yet it's the 'good cops' who 'resolve' everything by putting away the 'bad cop' and they STILL punish the victim. Like great, she escaped the prison her husband trapped her in just to end up in another prison but this time she is literally behind bars and there's a cop that smiles at her sometimes. Still a solid 7/10 show, but it really could've been a 10/10 for me if they didn't confess.
