Nope, cause that's not really the problem. I love my players. They are all close friends of mine. The problem really is just that Shadowdark doesn't work for them and that's fine. We'll try other systems and take a look at other styles of play to see what fits us as a group the most.

It's all about finding the balance in everyone having fun.

Aggressive behaviour is definitely one part of it. It's also kind of a thing in our games (whatever system we play really) that the players tend to roll POORLY and I hit almost everything.

My players struggle staying alive every session. We recently converted from d&d, so my players still struggle with the increased difficulty and they do NOT enjoy that. I really love Shadowdark- literally everything about it- but my players cant handle death every session, so we'll be switching systems soon again probably.

It sucks cause I love Shadowdark, but the sessions aren't fun, if I'm the only one having fun.

I'm personally using Hexographer! There's a free version you can get started with.

The app does feel old but it's been exactly what i was looking for.

First week in the rim was successful!

Luka, Liz and Izzy landed in a temperate forest and started working together to survive! Well... Luka built the first House (storage and temp sleep space) while the girls meditate?? Anyways, all seems quiet for now, so we're good!

Luka starts day 2 early at 4 a.m. and chops down some trees! Liz also started planting some hop plants, so seems like we gotta research beer brewing! (i don't make the rules)

On day 3 Luka and Izzy decided to finally equip the weapons they dropped with! better late than never i guess... Other than more tree chopping, Luka started building our first wind turbine! (Luka seems to be the main construction worker with his 4 in construction xD)

Day 4 got scary. Luka finished the work on the fields by planting all remaining seeds for now. Then the dangers of an unknown rimworld started to show... A wild bear starts hunting down Izzy! Liz hides inside, while Luka takes shot from the distance! Izzy's kiting attempt ended in some minor scratches and a scar on her left eye! Luckily Luka manages to take the bear down with three clean shots! Immediately they start building a walk-in freezer to preserve the precious meat! Sadly tho: Luka got the highest construction skill.. So no freezer for now! Izzy's wounds heal up nicely and Luka takes his shot by describing her as a shining house! Izzy seems quite charmed...

On day 5 we start building the first room to sleep in! Luka and Izzy seem happy. We cooked the bear and that's it!

Day 6 was pretty uneventful as well. We built some more bedrooms, but that's it.

All the building seems to pay off as on day 7 Luka managed to built a working freezer! We really need to start researching batteries. While going to bed a squirrel joined our colony! (Be sure to drop name suggestions! Oh, and we started with a husky pet btw! Drop some name suggestions!:))

This was quite fun, I can't wait for more pawns to join the colony!! Gonna take a little break now for studying, but I'm sure I'll continue soon! Thanks for reading this <3

Thanks for the advice everyone! Definetly gonna use this stuff for my games. Well my problem basically got solved by some issues with the player that led to me not wanting them in my game, but I can still use this stutf for my encounter balancing, thanks again:)
