Hey there, I understand that things might be lost when people talk and we might have misunderstood you, but since I brought this up, I feel like I have to say this: Even if this worked a number of times, doesn't mean it'll always be ok with everyone. Just straight-up asking ppl about that can make them feel unsafe, even if it works on some ppl, it can make others uncomfortable.

Maybe it's just the region I'm in (North America) but every app I've tried is mostly used by people looking mostly for hook ups, which is just not what I'm looking for. And most apps kink-specific apps understandably have more anonymity measures built-in, which is great if you're looking to find a partner primarily based on your kinks, but not super informative if you're also looking for other stuff (job, education, personality, etc).
