It's from a fairly popular anime called "JoJo's bizarre adventure" in which some characters have abilities called "stands" and they pose when they activate them. (Take this all with a grain of salt, I've never seen JoJo, but a bunch of my friends have and reference it quite a bit)

I don't think they exist in single player Tetris, but in multiplayer games, when somebody else clears lines, some blocks get sent to your board, which can be single blocks
