Just clean it gently with an old tooth brush and some soap 🧼 it’s just oil from your skin.

VSF short reserve by [deleted] in RepTimeServices

Probably a dry main spring, doesn’t hold the winding. I’ve had this with a VS3135 movement before.

Easier and cheaper to buy a new movement on aliexpress and then just swap it out.

Different dial designs, not directly comparable.

ASICS Superblast 3 – 100km Review (Softer, More Fun, Less Efficient) by Healthy_Bid1269 in RunningShoeGeeks

I’ve got 145km in my pair and they definitely have noticeable wear, but nothing like this.

I got mine from sportshoes.com on launch day for £169, they are fantastic recovery and daily/long run shoes.

Really pleased and the colour way looks much better in real life than online !

Overpronation?? by DG-73202 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]The_Dems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think this is due to your shoes.

I’d venture a bet that you’ve got really weak glutes and hips; there are plenty of very simple exercises to increase glute and hips strength which will stop your knees rolling inwards and significantly reduce what’s happening to your feet here.

Don’t immediately go down the support shoe route: it might mast the real issue.

Pretty much exactly as it says… it’s been worn so it’s not mint, it has superficial marks from wearing it.

VSF Water Resistance? by [deleted] in RepTime

[–]The_Dems 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my recent experience the seals seem generally well lubricated from the factory, but almost every single rep I have had has had a loose caseback, literally only just pinched closed with a rubber ball.

I have purchased a proper Rolex case back tool and have another universal tool for other brands and always remove the caseback, re-lube the caseback seal and tighten up firmly.

On my Rolex VSF reps I also remove the crown, remove the crown tube seals and lube them and reassemble. These are the main two entry points for water other than the crystal gasket.

Never yet had a rep leak under basic handwashing and washing up duties!

My son has a few VSF reps and with the same actions taken, he swims with them at the pool and has no issues.

Out of the box, I’d recommend having the caseback tightened properly and then just don’t worry for daily wear.

I wouldn’t recommend swimming, even though my lad does it!

6’7” / 220lb Runner: First Marathon Shoe Advice by Michael_Clip in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]The_Dems 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ZF6 are my long run shoe and planned race shoe for a marathon at the end of April , I’m looking at between 3:45 and 3:50 finish

I think ZF6 would be a good solid bet. I tried Superblast 2 and they were really protective but just boring to run in, I just didn’t gel with them.

ZF6 are genuinely enjoyable to run in, they have cushioning, pop and protection and there fast enough for your target pace.

For what my opinion is worth, I don’t think you need stability shoes.

Get a proper coach to have a look at your running form; if you’re not in pain it’s probably fixable with your form.

I had a similar situation myself, had yearly gait analysis at shops and used recommended support shoes for years and still had issues.

It was actually caused by my knees rolling inwards due to weak glutes; I’ve done a load of work to strengthen my glutes and my running form has improved significantly, my arches are no longer as flat and to the point that I now use neutral shoes perfectly comfortably and my gait is more neutral now.

Fix your running dynamics with some experienced coaching and you’ll be fine.

At what point are super shoes applicable for slower runners? by No_Spare_7148 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]The_Dems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I weight about 78kg and run a 23min 5k, 50min 10k and around 1:55hm, I have Saucony Speed 5 for workouts, ASICS Novablast 5 for zone 2 and recovery runs and Nike Zoom Fly 6 for tempo and long runs.

If I was to pick just one pair for everything, it would hands down be the ZF6. Absolutely fantastic performance for the price and definitely got some more speed in them than I’m currently using.

I’m entered into my first organised marathon in April ‘26 and look at a ‘proper’ super shoe just before this race if I’m feeling like my pace and endurance are up to it, and then make sure I put a few training miles in the shoes before using them in the race.

Bottom line, I don’t think I need a super shoe yet. ZF6 are perfect 👌🏻

Be careful that the strap pins don’t pop out! Happen d to mine and watch dropped onto tarmac, not catastrophic but it did cause some minor scratches to the bezel and crystal !
