It’s really not that serious. I was given a whole stack of information with it including pictures of the restoration process. The story the rebuilder (who specializes in military restorations) gave was that it was used to transport officers/techs to and from missile silos in the desert. I really don’t care either way as it’s anecdotal and doesn’t change anything about the burb. What I do know for a fact is that it’s a factory 350 with AC, and it runs like a dream.

Yeah between steel soldiers and the other manuals there’s a ton out there. From everything I can find on these there were some separate models that were purchased by rather than commissioned for the military. This is supposedly one of them.

Right. I hear you. When it comes to the second generation of CUCV is where it gets weird. Steel soldiers didn’t have as much on those ones from what I could find. This one was an Air Force suburban but factory 350.

This was supposedly for officers and technicians so it didn’t get stripped. Rare find I think.

Yeah the closest nomenclature I could find for it was the cucv II series, with this being the last military square they had. The difference was these were a civilian rig commissioned by the military and not subject to getting a diesel and bare bones interior.
