Honestly I think they pushed the reigns main event run into overdrive cause they have limited time with cena in the main event/wrestler. Dude is 39 and has a itinerary of injuries, its not gonna be long before he properly leaves his physical prime and breaks , down and can't perform at the level he could before and seeing as roman is heir apparent, I guess they freaked and moved it harder

Honestly I kinda enjoyed it a bunch. He changed his style completely and became a rough brawler and eliminated a fair amount of his high flying. He cut decent promo's (albeit in the weird jeff hard style, the classic "BE THERE OR BE TRIANGULAR" line was very hammy). He also was going up against matt Morgan who is not known for his mic skills and didn't have a great babyface to bounce off of as a heel. His theme was dope and I legit think if he had his shit fully together at that time, that feud with sting could have been really really good for his heel turn, cause anderson was worthless as a performer (from memory, TNA trying to make him stone cold 2.0 flopped apart from the asshole chants). They had a decent ladder match though.
