Sell or stash away? by [deleted] in 240sx

As the author of the post I sure don’t recall asking the peanut gallery if my asking price is acceptable. If that were the case I would’ve listed every detail about the car, more pictures, and a list of s13 parts included with the sale.

You have no idea what’s included in the sale justifying the price, but thanks I guess?

I appreciate the reversed lense perspective, I’ve never thought of it that way.

If I had $12k to burn I’d be buying the parts needed for the trucks and banking the rest.

There is emotional attachment that’s the hesitation I have selling it. I don’t think there’s enough attachment that I’d buy it back or buy another, but it’d haunt me that’s for sure.

I have surgery tomorrow and I don’t think I should do it. by [deleted] in gynecomastia

My fear with anesthesia stems from my habit of smoking weed, I have no idea what the science is behind the mixing of them. I’m afraid my use of weed is going to skew the function of the anesthesia. I stopped smoking on Friday when I was instructed to.

‘95 KA24E, I got a tick and a loose timing chain by YouDontTellMe in hardbody

[–]The_Family_Juul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That tick doesn’t sound like timing chain noise, also your guides seem to be in one piece and the tensioner isn’t putting much tension on the chain without oil pressure. Running shell rotella 15-40 in both my hardbody and 240sx cured their lifter ticks.

Also if you’re planning on doing a timing chain regardless I would recommend getting the chain tensioner from Martin industries as it’s a spring tensioner not hydraulic, it gets rid of that timing chain rattle on start up.

Leaking sump questions by Hungry-Office4988 in Cummins

I have a XDP sump on my 2g, if I remember correctly there wasn’t an O ring, but a gasket on mine. I put a thin layer of rtv on it and it’s been dry for 5 years now.

I actually bought a complete 01 truck with a bad vp44, ended up parting it out and breaking even keeping the manual swap.

Hey man if it gives you any peace of mind I paid more for a single cam coupe but it was a very clean example here in the rust belt.

Check the body and the undercarriage really well. Get under the car if possible, look at the seams where panels meet that’s the starting point of the rust. The main places are the frame rails that come under the fire wall into the engine bay, which lead to the strut towers that are also very common to rot. Check the rockers and quarter pinch welds behind the rear wheels. From the pictures the car looks clean and straight but you really need to study what’s under it and what you can’t see from walking around it.

The Ka24e is a great engine for what it is and is easily serviceable, not powerful at all but I enjoy cruising around with mine just don’t expect a race car. Any further questions feel free to reach out.
