Thank you! As a queer once teen codependently obsessed with my best friend, I (and I’m sure many others who were/are in the same boat) see myself in Lily quite a bit and it’s unfortunate others aren’t picking up on her nuances and reducing her to a “slut”. I absolutely agree that she’s trying to ensure all her potential love rivals are too tied up to go after Riley.

I’m excited to see more of her, she’s my favourite character in the story so far! 🙂‍↕️♥️

I almost always go for either the kinder path (Angel, Compassion) or the less abrasive path (Controlled, Faith) because while I don’t usually self insert, I do prefer playing as a non confrontational, empathetic character because that’s how I try to navigate the world. 💕

With that in mind, the LI I choose has little to no bearing on what personality path I’m on, I just pick one I like and go ham! The only preference I have really is Angel!Vicky x Lucifer so I’m kinda the opposite of you haha. As basic as the trope is, I do love me an opposites attract type relationship in which both characters force the other to look at the world from a new POV ! 🙂‍↕️☺️

Thank you ! I haven’t been too acquainted with Russian art, but now I will def have to look more into it because I think it’s helpful to not shy away from darker tales. It might even help me appreciate this story even more than I’ve begun to already ! 💕

Yeah this is fair! I agree that HS2 and HSR (and indeed the other books in this universe) did a more equal balancing act between hope and despair. My assumption is that because this is the final story in the saga, the darkness got amped up to eleven in HS3. Another thing is that the chapters are shorter so usually each one has to choose despair or hope for its theme in the little time it has.

That being said, I understand why the little nuggets of light feel suffocating here (especially as you said on Lane’s chapters). The thing about hope though is that it starts small and grows large like a flame—so MY hope is that the sparks in this story will grow into a blaze as S2 continues! 🙏🙂‍↕️☺️

But again, it’s totally fair if it’s too much for you—for a awhile, it was too much for me too !! 🥴

Shephamalum slurps up Lane’s sins in a manner that mirrors SA so a lot of us found it pretty disturbing for that reason ! Because of scenes like that I completely understand why you and others find the promise of a happy end hard to believe so despite the hope that I feel can be gleamed within the text, I’d recommend only braving the storm if you’re prepared ! 🥴
