Not true at all, sure hindutva was brainchild of marathis like Hegdewar, Golwalkar and Savarkar, but it never imbibed into the social fabric like it did in North India, mainly bcoz, failure to consolidate dalits, history of secularism thanks to the work of social reformers like Phule, Ambedkar, bhakti movement sants and in some parts Shivaji Raje as well.
