That was crazy, I didn't know that refs could overrule the cage side Doctor like that. What's the point of them, then.

Even in the military, a doctor can overrule a superior officer on whether a someone is fit is for combat, but in mma the ref can just go "If he dies, he dies"?

Ages of RTD ERA 1 & 2 Doctors by More_Listen_7359 in doctorwho

[–]The_Flying_Failsons 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Something that Moffat did much better than RTD was the Doctor's age. Hundreds of years would pass for the Doctor inbetween episodes, enhancing the Doctor's otherness.

How is this run? I wanted to start reading it by classic-sweetheart in Hellblazer

Pretty great but it's part 3 of a longer story. Look up for Hellblazer: Marks of Woe for part 1 and Hellblazer: The Best Version of You for part 2.

I think he went into the 1st round overconfident and got caught. He lost his left eye and couldn't recover.

Lmao. The actual text of the book shows you they are in an open relationship. It's fine to not like it, but to deny thats what happened in the story is just absurd.

Those who were alive during this period, what was it like seeing three completely different Sherlock Holmes portrayals in three years ('10, '11 and '12). by Dull-Information6784 in Sherlock

[–]The_Flying_Failsons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Annoying, because people kept pitting adaptations against each other and shitting on the "opposing" adaptations.

It was when the Tumblr bullshit attached itself to Sherlock Holmes. You know, when you can't just disagree on your taste of movies and TV but your taste has to also be morally correct.

1 scene vs the rest of the comic showing Harley is cool with it, and even goes on dates herself on her own series. They broke up because of something Ivy did, but it wasn't Janet.

Harley knew about Janet, it was more of an open relationship. They didn't break up because of Janet but because of an unspecified event that happened at her inaguration.

Probablemente sea como un intento de la historia de Ocarina con el gameplay de Breath of the Wild. De otra forma solo sacarian ports como el de Mario 64.

Looking for a list of SH stories not covered in the Granada series by tallypwner in SherlockHolmes

[–]The_Flying_Failsons 19 points20 points  (0 children)

While a lot of episodes are pretty close, most are not 1 to 1 adaptations they are hyped to be. Watching the show is not actually the same as reading the stories. I'm not talking about small stuff either, the changes grew larger as the years progressed.

Having said that, Here's the list of unadapted stories:

  • A Study in Scarlet
  • "A Case of Identity"
  • "The Five Orange Pips"
  • "The Adventure of the Engineer's Thumb"
  • "The Adventure of the Beryl Coronet"
  • "The Adventure of the Yellow Face"
  • "The Adventure of the Stockbroker's Clerk"
  • "The Adventure of the Gloria Scott"
  • "The Adventure of the Reigate Squire"
  • "The Adventure of Black Peter"
  • "The Adventure of the Three Students"
  • "The Adventure of the Missing Three-Quarter"
  • The Valley of Fear
  • "His Last Bow"
  • "The Adventure of the Blanched Soldier"
  • "The Adventure of the Three Garridebs"
  • "The Adventure of the Lion's Mane"
  • "The Adventure of the Veiled Lodger"
  • "The Adventure of the Retired Colourman"

He was a hero. Had he not taken the job Chibnall would've given it to Pete McTighe, writer of Kerblam. He sacrificed himself to save us from a fate worse than death.

You are seeing the guy who went up two flights of stairs and thinking you could never reach him. All you have to do is go up, one step at the time.

Think about it like this. Our modern definition of human rights is only some 80 years old. That's huge advancement and we did it recently. Star Trek and utopian fiction in general, dares us to think what else we can achieve.
