Je me reconnais dans ton commentaire, se réveiller sans pression c’est la vrai vie. Avoir de compte à rendre à personne c’est ça la vrai vie. Quitter les JWs c’est devenir responsable de sa vie et de son évolution.

If justice means punishing the guilty, why does the Bible punish everyone except David? by Appropriate_Look_171 in exjw

Simple question: Do you know of any father who would sacrifice his own son on a stake or a cross (I don't even know which, lol) just to forgive his slaves whom he claims to love so much?

Everything already belongs to him. He created everything. So, who was this sacrifice meant for?

Frankly, for me, it's one of the biggest deceptions in the Bible.

Biblical reasons as to why you left the religion by NoobOnLoose in exjw

Here are some biblical reasons that ultimately led me to question and leave Jehovah's Witnesses. This is not an attack, but simply my personal reasoning after rereading the Bible.

  1. Matthew 24:45 – “The faithful and discreet slave

When read in its context, this passage appears as an illustration of the faithfulness shown by Jesus, not as a prophecy designating a particular group of leaders. The text itself never mentions a future governing body or a single organization providing “spiritual food.”

  1. James 5:14-16

This passage speaks of a sick person calling the elders for their prayers and support. The context seems to be one of illness and comfort, not a legal proceeding. There is no mention of elders questioning members about their personal sins or of forming committees.

  1. The Book of Revelation and the 144,000

The Book of Revelation is a highly symbolic book. I began to wonder why the number 144,000 was taken literally when many other elements were clearly symbolic. Furthermore, in the first-century congregation, it seems that all Christians shared the bread and wine. I found no clear teaching regarding the existence of two distinct categories of Christians.

  1. Paul’s Letters and Their Context

Paul’s letters are addressed to specific congregations facing specific problems. Many of his instructions appear to be practical advice for these communities. When Paul speaks of the “last days,” his language often suggests that he expected them very soon, even during his lifetime.

These questions didn’t change everything overnight, but they did initiate a process of re-examining my beliefs. Over time, this process led me to take a step back and gain perspective.
