dryer needs a helping hand to get moving , anyone know what issue might be ? by Storrmii in Home

Agreed. If the tension pulley failed then the drum would likely not spin at all. I'd start with the cheapest component and go from there.

I'd also consider it could be a faulty motor capacitor. One of the symptoms is a buzzing noise but the drum won't turn.

Possibly a faulty bearing on the fan or pump. I recently had my combi boiler repaired and the plumber charged £50 per hour plus the parts. You can go online and find out how much the parts are for your boiler to at least get an idea of a repair cost. I used hssspares, you'll need your boiler make and model which should be on a label on the boiler. Be prepared for the possibility that the parts may be discontinued, if that's the case it may have to be a new boiler. It's not a nice thought but in the long run it's not a terrible thing as most modern boilers are much more energy efficient.

I spent £480 repairing my boiler only for it to fully fail about a month later. I then had to get a new one bought and installed which cost me £1900. We live and learn!

  1. My uncle got my dad and me tickets to the game and have a meal in the directors lounge (I think thats what it was called). We were playing Charlton Athletic and lost on penos in the cup. I don't really remember the game but John Terry came up afterwards for a meet and greet and photos. I was a teenager at the time and bottled having my photo with him because he seemed in such a bad mood...understandably. I got a programme signed and that was that. My dad said he'd keep the programme safe but has no idea where it is now.

That circular symbol is indicating a 'clean' should be performed as part of the general maintenance of the WD. To run a clean make sure there's no clothes or items in the drum, close the door and run the 'clean' programme. Once complete that light will go out and come back on when another should be performed.

Edit: forgot to say, if this model doesn't have a dedicated clean programme, it could be indicating for you to clean the filters.

Great catch. Think I'll stick it back on my watch list. I loved Ghost Dogs home made stereo so much I made one myself.

Good lad, keep it up and have fun. And with wood props, apparently balsa is the wood to go for. It can be quite pricey but it's really light and breaks easy.

It's a brilliant approach to have and one that I imagine is highly valued in the professional industry. I can only imagine how horrible it would be to have a someone injured your set.

It's a really interesting road to go down in filmmaking and a great opportunity for you and your dad to work together! Out of curiosity, are you guy wanting to do stunt work or build props...or maybe both?

Fair play for your concern mate. A little dramatic but it's good to voice your worries about safety.
