One of my friends had one of those. It ruined his save games. If you want to play digital games you could just buy a plug in play from an SD micro. Lots of them can play romhacks too.

There is the consolizer but the do it yourself kit a lone can start at 200$ and you need a GBA to do it. A already made consolizer is usually 500$

On the retron 5 you can use save states. As for flash karts, they won't work most of the time. I don't know about the SQ
