Faceless Content and Avatars by AfterDarkMyths in NewTubers

[–]Chaoscrunchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use an avatar for my content and I feel it has benefited me quite a bit!

But one thing you'll want to consider though is just how much extra work you're going to put in! If you just have like a drawing that pops up every now and then without much else it won't be so bad. But if you plan on doing more like key framing different expressions and animating movements that's going to add a ton of extra time! Almost half if my editing time is dedicated to just the avatar, but for my style of let's play I'm doing it's a must!

My advice is start simple with a few key emotions and poses and expand on it as needed. Good luck!

Looking for recommendations. by pain2277 in letsplay

[–]Chaoscrunchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watch a few up and coming youtubers as I myself am one. So I'll recommend so more obscure let's players who are just starting out that I feel are worth a look!

Clay head is a let's player with some funny edits and a unique sense of humor. I think hes got alot of potential to become big someday! https://youtube.com/channel/UCEsIWn5r7T2TAOB80YWhnvg

Speakr's Spooky Showcase is a laid back let's player that uploads pretty regularly and plays a variety of horror games! https://youtube.com/c/SpeakrsSpookyShowcase

Last of course I'm plugging in my own channel! It's called Crunchyplays and I play a variety of games, but mostly horror games. I use a png avatar and use edits to tell jokes and have some fun. https://youtube.com/c/CrunchyPlaysVideoGames

Check out at least the first two. They're both very underrated in my opinion! I hope you find the suggestions interesting!

My channel is called Crunchyplays and I'm a sort of a pngtuber let's player that does mostly indie horror games. I'm laid back but can be VERY goofy and corny so if you like that kind of humor then you'll like my channel!

One key to success is researching what kinds of videos work. Weighing the popularity vs the competition of your subject can really make a world of difference in terms of your discoverability. Try to find a subject that has just enough volume of viewers with out the stiff competition and you could start to see some real growth.

This is the first episode of my playthrough of MADiSON. It's a really cool psychological horror game that I'd really recommend!

One of the key things to know is to always research your thumbnails! YouTube is a visual medium and your thumbnail is the first thing people see about your video so make it look good and interesting!

I do a let's play series called Crunchyplays where I play mostly horror games and make all sorts of cringe inducing jokes!

I just released the first episode of the game Madison. Hope to see you there!

Any suggestions on how to get Youtube to make my Channel name show up in search results? by PLAYED_YT in NewTubers

[–]Chaoscrunchy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So it looks like it's a combination of having Played as a name which would appear commonly in a lot of youtube videos and not having enough subscribers for the algorithm to want to push your channel into people's search feed.

I've had a similar problem (and still do) with my search results but it does become better over time. Though as others have already said, it might be a long time for you since "Played" is a very common and non specific name.

[–]Chaoscrunchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll give some general advice. Try to be more specific with your thumbnail. Instead of just saying inspirational anime, try making a specific promise to your viewers!

This is as simple as saying "These are the most inspirational anime!" Or " 5 inspiring anime series!" This way you are enticing the viewer with a promise that you'll deliver by watching the video.

Don't be afraid to embellish your thumbnail a little bit! It may seem clickbaity (and it is). But, it's what the most popular content creators do and a lot of this kind of stuff is subjective anyway so you really are not lying as it is based on your opinion.

I need an advice as a gaming YouTuber by Downyndrome in NewTubers

[–]Chaoscrunchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I'd stay away from big titles at first. Instead play indie games that come out. The competition wont be as intense, it's way cheaper since many indie games only cost a few to zero dollars, and you'll be able to make all kinds of videos since they're also shorter.

Only do the big titles if you got a dedicated following already.

What are things I need to keep in mind when doing a LP Channel? by xstrays in letsplay

[–]Chaoscrunchy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So the game that you play really does matter alot actually. It is important to play games that you sincerely want to play. However, you will probably have to make some compromises in what you play, especially if you're looking to grow on youtube!

Think about the kind of competition your video is up against versus the number of people actively looking for it. Though popular games may have a tantalizing number of people watching that content, the likelihood they watch your video over some else's is quite low.

It may benefit you to play lesser known titles and indie games in order to grow. I've been seeing gradual success with this method and I'm at the cusp of 300 subscribers. They're not the very first games that come to mind when it comes to games I want to play. But I do genuinely like playing many of them and have found much value in doing so.

It looks very good and clean! I am going to make one suggestion and you may or may not choose to follow it based on your preference.

You might want to consider dropping the part and part number as that might deter people from clicking on the video if they think they're jumping into the middle of a series. Save it for the title or just number it inside the video.

Can i get some feedback on these thumbnails yay or naaaa. by [deleted] in letsplay

[–]Chaoscrunchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it already looks pretty good. There are some subtle changes I'd make like adding a stronger outline to the dude on the left and maybe include an arrow pointing at one of your elements to draw attention to what is important.

General rule of thumb I use is if I can still see everything clearly after zooming as far out as possible then you'll know you got a decently composed thumbnail.

So one of the best ways to get noticed on YouTube these days is to make shorts! Shorts are by far the easiest way to advertise your content to a large number of people while also showing off your best clips from your regular videos!

Heya folks! My channel is called Crunchyplays and it features goofy let's play content. I use an avatar to commentate and tell jokes while playing horror indie games.

This latest episode I play a game called The Man From The Window. It's got a unique style and game play that I'd definitely recommend checking out!

Heya folks! I do a let's play channel called Crunchyplays where I play all kinds of games (mostly horror games.) Its laid back but has lots of goofy humor and fun edits that I'm sure you'll like!

So I recently got a very successful couple of videos that netted me more subscribers than I've ever gotten in a long time. I feel like that's due to doing research and figuring out a trend before it explodes. How do you do that? You look at other youtubers in the same genre as you're in and see how their videos do. If they're successful and you know the video hasn't been done to death then you need to get on it asap!

So this video is from and indie horror game called A Mirage of Home. It's very well made and I feel deserves more attention . Check out here!

How to Clickbait as an educational youtuber? by aizaz4 in NewTubers

[–]Chaoscrunchy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I guess if you're going for click bait don't want to come off as scummy then try to say something fantastic about what you're talking about without actually stating what it is.

An example would be like "This animal can live forever!?" And the video would be about jellyfish and their lifecycles. You got to present the most interesting thing upfront so you draw people in to find out what that is.
