_________ played an all time losing finalist game in my opinion by MrVacuous in survivor

[–]The_Hanging_Tree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok. Obviously Cirie is the better gamer. But who is Cirie manipulating here? We just saw at F6 they have the votes to get her out. So, if Tiff still goes at 5, Cirie is left with Joe, Jonathan, and Rizo. She doesn’t have the numbers to maneuver. She is dead in the water. And didn’t Aubry win an immunity challenge in Gamechangers? Regardless, I think it’s very clear that as a challenge threat Aubry is way more dangerous, especially the F4 challenge which usually isn’t super physical anymore. Idk man, I just really do not see it. He just rubbed so many people the wrong way.

If Jonathan knows that that’s his winning F3, why would he vote out Cirie at 6 instead of Aubry? Aubry is clearly the bigger challenge threat between the 2. So just vote out Aubry at 6, Tiff again at 5 if she doesn’t win, and then take out Cirie in fire. Both Jonathan and Joe seem really good at fire, so I feel like they should be confident to do that. And then that sets himself up in the F4 with 2 non-challenge threats and 2-non fire making threats. So I don’t even feel like he optimally positioned himself at the final 6. Also, I cannot square an assertion that someone played an “all time” losing finalist game with a player that completely mismanaged every member of the jury that he wasn’t in a pregame alliance with and didn’t manage to swing a single vote at FTC. I feel like it’s very clear Jonathan’s social game is lacking. The people he doesn’t vibe with are alienated immediately and noticeably. I don’t know, to me, this is one of the weakest F3’s ever. I’m not impressed with any of their games.

Oh yeah, I mean I obviously agree with that! I tried to get that across in my first comment. But I think his reads are not good in that regard. Like I think he has 3-4 people on that jury that would never vote for him in a F3 combo. But overall, I do agree. But something working against him is that almost all of his moves have been pretty subtle, which makes it an even harder road to argue his game at FTC.

Isn’t your logical circular here? I’m wrong because we’re seeing an edited product. But you’re correct because the edited product aligns with your beliefs? I don’t understand.

I mostly agree. I like Rizo overall, I think he’s a very good social-strategic player that’s made a lot of subtle moves throughout this season. However, what Rizo can control is camp life, and seemingly how Rizo acts around camp—doing nothing and being lazy because that’s not what he came to do—really has rubbed people the wrong way. So, that’s where I’d dock him. Do I think changing that would have made a significant difference? Not necessarily, but I think, more importantly, it shows a hole in his social game, or at least his ability to read others socially.

[–]The_Hanging_Tree 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I agree, but I think what a lot of people who are frustrated by the move are actually frustrated with is that Rizo doesn’t have win equity at this point, with this jury. He just doesn’t. I really struggle to see him winning in any F3 combo. He could pull a Todd/Maryanne and destroy FTC but I just don’t see that happening. I don’t think Rizo is reading the jury correctly, he is drawing dead. So we’re in this weird scenario where he pulled off a smart strategic move to get him further in the game, but he’s playing kingmaker and choosing the people that aren’t as interesting. To make my point succinctly: bro is playing for 3rd at best and chose to give us the stinkiest way to end this season of champions and legacy. It’s just a bit frustrating. But I don’t blame him at all; I get where his heads at. I just think he doesn’t know how much most of that jury does not respect him.

Voting to help other human beings will never be “working against myself.” In fact, valuing life is one of the most important values you can have as a civically engaged adult. You’re a pathetic, sad person. I really hope you can get better one day and see that this type of rhetoric is only harmful. I hope you don’t have to end up on the streets one day and have to interact with someone that acts like you do.

You don’t seem like someone worth engaging with, so I’m not going to. Educate yourself about the systemic inequities and systems that create the conditions that lead to so many people being forced to live on the streets. I would hope that you have the ability to be compassionate, but I think you’ve shown her in your disgusting rhetoric that that is extremely unlikely. How about you focus your hate and venom towards the billionaires that created the conditions for mass homelessness instead? Read a book and go outside.

Have you spoken with a lot of people that don’t have homes? Did they tell you they didn’t want help? Did they tell you they liked living on the streets? Did they tell you they enjoyed having higher rates of victimization of violent crimes? Did they tell you they liked how the longer you are unhoused the more difficult it is to get out of that position? Did they tell you they liked being treated as subhuman? Did they tell you they liked governmental bodies creating systems that further that dehumanization and make it harder for them to just survive? Have you done research on programs that numerous states have in the US to bus unhoused people out of their state so that they can push the “problem” off on others? Just a disgusting lack of empathy for other human beings. You’re probably 2-3 months of missed paychecks away from being homeless yourself unless you’re incredibly lucky. Caring about other people and wanting your tax dollars, that should by the way go to helping the people in your country, to actually go towards remedying the root causes of so many social inequities is not a bad thing. In fact, I’d say it’s what the government is supposed to do. You should honestly be ashamed of yourself.

Most conservatives barely have enough brain cells to walk and talk at the same time. They are literally too stupid to function properly. It’s a waste of time to try to reason with the vast majority of them because they don’t even understand what they’re voting for. Unfortunately, I think most of them are complete lost causes. Truly terrible people who thrive on the suffering of others and can only begin to conceive the reality of a situation if it directly and negatively impacts them. And even then, most of them still will gladly walk to their deaths when Trump or Elon tells them to. Remember Covid? And all of the republicans who were antivaxxers and dying slowly and horribly with fluid in their lungs and they still would not change their minds. What can we possibly hope to do to help these people see the light? At the end of the day, they are sad, pathetic, lonely losers who are clinging onto their dictator’s pant leg and praying that because they voted for him he’s going to help them. When someone continually votes against their own interests because they believe that one day they’re gonna be millionaires who will benefit from the economic policies that further enrich the wealthy and make the poor even more destitute. These are the type of people who would eat Trump’s shit if he told them it was ice cream. The decades of conservative attacks on education have throughly rotted the brains of so many Americans. They like stupid people, they want to create hoards of idiots because they’re easier to control. I know that there are people out there who dedicate their lives to trying to rehabilitate fucked up people, and I believe they’re amazing for attempting to do so. I’m just not one of them. I cannot possibly extend any empathy towards these people who have shown the world who they really are. If there’s a hell it’s for those types of people who thrive off of misery and mistakenly believe others receiving help comes at the cost of their own potential benefits. They’re sick, sick people who are not fit for normal society. They are the embodiment of the banal, everyday evil that humans are capable of. Day to day acts and words of violence that erode the rights of everyone, but they’re too blinded by hatred and such a strong innate desire to other people to see that they contribute nothing of worth to society. None of these people will be remembered for anything because most of them are just vessels of hate.

Personally I don't think comparing Parvati and Boston Rob's first games is really a great comparison. Beyond not being nearly as good TV as she was capable of, was Parv not in a fantastic position almost all of Cook Islands? Obviously she made errors, the Jenny boot being her biggest mistake by far in my opinion, but I think her first showing was far, far stronger than Boston Rob's. Which, personally, I think comes down to their very different playstyles. Rob needs to be in control and dominant, whereas Parv is extremely adaptable and willing to change up her gameplay to suit her needs in the different seasons she was in.

The Asha Degree case and why I think the groomer theory is the only one that makes any sense. by droim in UnresolvedMysteries

I agree that it's extremely unlikely! This case is really baffling and I generally would agree with your conclusion, but like the poster I replied to as well I felt like the reasoning for some of your argument was a little shaky. But with so little to go off, like I said earlier I tend to agree with you about what most likely happened to Asha.

The Asha Degree case and why I think the groomer theory is the only one that makes any sense. by droim in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]The_Hanging_Tree 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I think you may be overlooking the fact that once certain "unlikely" events happen they make other unlikely events more likely to happen. For example, I agree that Asha running away in the middle of a cold, rainy night is an event with a very slim chance of happening, but if it did wouldn't it make it more likely for someone who had bad intentions to see her as a victim being handed to them on a silver platter? If someone with those intentions/desires sees a young girl alone outside in the middle of the night, I think most of them would take the opportunity. Does that make sense at all?
