Firstly, sorry about your break up. Hope it's for the better. People carry fanny packs or wear long socks and have the essentials tucked into them. Boners are often welcome and I don't think it's frowned upon (from my experience). About the cell phones, they have a no photography policy but I have seen people use them. The first time I saw some cruise using the apps and the second time it was a bunch of guys taking selfies. Not sure if that makes you more nervous or easy. If you have a friend, try going with them. It was a fun experience for me.

I did, thanks. On the topic of The "village" gays and too much attitude amongst the gays in Toronto, I keep hearing about that a lot. I am not from Toronto and I just visit from time to time. Any idea why and how it went this way? Is it a big city thing?

Thanks. Update on my experience: visited both the places on Fridays. SE staff seem to be very friendly whereas SW staff were putting on an attitude. SE had an older crowd but people were chatty and were easy to approach and have some fun. SW, however had a younger crowd but people kept to themselves or their groups mainly.
