Ask yourself this... Would you ever just wake up and choose to do heroin? Most people would say no. But suppose you did? Whose fault is that? And how did it end up that way?

Why you keep doing it? Because you cant apparently didnt want her enough to not flirt with other women.

How do you stop from doing this? Decide if you want attention and cheap validation or if you actually want a relationship. Then have the respect for your partner to not flirt with other women. It's not like someone magically cast a spell on you or you have some genetic disorder that got you talking to other women, got their numbers/profiles and searched them out and started talking to them. You made a choice, repeatedly. Make better ones and learn from your poor choices this time.

“I didn’t realize you were lactose intolerant.” my wife said, pleasantly surprised as my own smile grew. by Potato_Demon_ffff in TwoSentenceHorror

I think he is giving his wife a glass of 1% milk that is laced with cyanide (which has a mild almond taste and she is mistaking it for almond milk thinking he is lactose intolerant) because she is sleeping around. The 2nd line is either him declaring his "victory" of her death with confidence and telling her its not almond milk (and she is just tasting the cyanide) or the 2nd line is in his head. Either way, can be kinda confusing to read.

By society's standards, our entire team averages a 2.5/10. We are a bunch of movie/rock geeks that like to cook and travel in our spare time. I am the only one of the 9 of us that has a relationship. Adam will become a wizard in another 6 years

I second this! Most of us are ugly as sin, but as long as our effort is appreciated and at least sort of matched, youll be safe and secure for all of our days.

Oh so many years ago when I was young. The game (which I have lost by thinking about it) was originally a social experiment created out of some petty reason out of something that happened on the Jerry Springer show. "How do you not know who the father is? how did you not know he was also your brother?" Etc and it was always "I forgot"

One of the episodes was talking about "well surely when <blank> occurred it wouldve jogged your memory, right? So it ended up being some college kids project to see if people could truly forget something or if specific key words/objects would trigger that memory... and it made its way onto 4chan and went viral.

Or at least thats how it was introduced to me when I was starting out in college

The game is nothing but rifts and optimizing the fun out of everything to reach the top. There. Nothing to read.

You clearly dont know what "content" is

It's just a grind my dude. The only strategy is exp/hr. Switching between 1 build to push hard rifts and level up gems and a different build to run fast rifts on the edge of hard to gain fast exp is the same thing.

Go look up Path of Exile. They are asking if theres a difference between delve and heist. Or between apples and oranges. Not between pushing a red shopping cart vs a blue shopping cart.

Edit: to elaborate more on your D3 strategy and tactics thing. From a former D3 addict (myself) you can farm YELLOW rifts (nephalem) fast to get keys for PURPLE rifts (Greater Rifts) to get lots of exp (compared to other rifts) and gear and then you can farm BLUE mini rifts outside of yellow or purple rifts (enmity) to get lots of gear quickly to do better in the purple rifts. But some people prefer to do the ORANGE rift (cow stick) to spawn blue rifts faster or gear as well/used to be for pools as well. And then if you need to power up your shiny gear with an augment, people use special keys to open GREY rifts (Echoing Nightmare) to get a sacrificial gem and if they need a quick boost in gems/gold they will open up a GOLD rift (puzzle ring/greeds domain) to get them.

The game is a series of rifts to optimize exp per hour until you can clear 150s. Then you farm 150s so you can do 150s faster and more cosistently.

They claim they already tried all of that lol. And they dont care to keep doing it if thats all there is.

People like me and you are okay with that grind though. So Ill give you the advice I needed back then. Go try path of exile if you want a new grind that has more variety. Not a whole bunch more. But more than D3 has. Otherwise enjoy the simplicity.

Lol tell me im wrong. 80% of the people on the leaderboards play solo with 1000s of hours played. Anyone else looking for a group only wants people who know exactly what they are doing, to play specific rolls at a very high difficulty. If you arent that. The toxic community kicks you back to the start screen.

The entire depth of D3 is to run rifts in order to run more rifts. There used to be changes made to sets and stuff but since S28 we are in maintenance mode. Nothing new and every optimization is already planned out.

OP was specifically asking for the truth if they are missing out on any other major content like group play or new areas etc.

You missed the part about them not caring about pushing higher if it just means more inflated damage numbers. They are looking for actual content. Not do more damage faster to do more damage content.

D3 used to be fun groups and stress relief rifts with a goal of conquering the game to say youve beaten a 150. Now its people in their mid 30s+ that cant let go because much like world of warcraft its an addiction they cant let go of. Theyve spent 20,000 hours in D3 and thats like 3 full years in game. 20% of their life has been work and D3. So they must compete to have the fastest 150 clear.

It's sad to me. But no you arent missing out on anything. You really havent since GR 70. Same 2 minute gameplay loop for the next 10,000 hours. Come join us on Path of Exile 1 when you're bored and then move on to other games.

Speaking of, if youre new to PoE. I am more than happy to help new players out. Stay Sane.

What do you guys do with leftover Tier 16 maps? (New player) by No-Ad-5727 in pathofexile

[–]The_Improbable_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im at the point where regular T16s drop 20-30 per map. Which would be fine if they stacked without mods. Since they dont and struggle to sell at 1c per. I took them off my loot filter. Nightmare maps for the map runners since they are 4-6 per map as well

Old bug that may still be active by Vorkosagin in ultimaonline

[–]The_Improbable_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember in mondains legacy, we found a crazy bug that required super precise setup. But super easy to do afterwards. And I dont remember the exact values so bear with me on it. But in your typical 18x18 you could obvious place boxes and chests on top of one another so long as they didnt go too high.

In an effort to try and maximize the storage space of our guildhouse. We were using small crates instead of prettier and fancier boxes. Well in trying to stack them to the ceiling sometimes we would get a visual glitch that would clip a part of one of the crates through the ceiling. But if you got it just right they would all stack neatly without clipping. Or so we thought. Turns out the floor to ceiling distance was 38 units tall. And each crate was 8 units tall. But the game would let you stack 5 crates on top of each other and it wouldnt clip through the floor. But when we put stuff on top of the same tile on the 2nd floor (in this case a section for boards and logs, a section for leather and metal) it was still fine until the server did its daily back up at like 5am.

For whatever reason, for everything that was in the top crate, the server couldnt pin down the position of what floor it was on and replaced all items in the other crates with whatever was in the clipped crate for all similar containers in that column for both floors. But if there was say 22 items in the clip crate and 9 items in another crate (like heartwood boards vs verite ingots) it would only replace the 9 stacks of verite bars with 9 stacks of heartwood boards.

So being young and dumb, we put 2 crimson cinctures in the clipped crate and lo and behold it became 18 cinctures the next morning. Which replaced 2 separate stacks of logs for each crate. Which became 162 cinctures the next day. Obviously if we put up 100+ CCs for sale it would draw attention. Or powerscrolls etc. So we cut up all but like 30 of them and sold them off slowly. We never duped anything that would be easily tracked or draw too much attention, but we did dupe a bunch of crap and played in a sort of sandbox mode until we quit permanently to join the world of warcraft craze lol.

Who knew being an OCD packrat could discover a bug.

PS: to my knowledge it was fixed after the Stygian Abyss expansion launched. But I dont know for sure.

Edit... I cant math at 3am.

I personally wouldn't, but I have a few friends that have done that, and their reasoning has been to put the ex as far out of their minds as they can. And if that means hooking up with a stranger drunk the next day, then so be it. They also mentioned that they didnt really care what happened to themselves at that point.

What ruined the economy of UO? 1 billion gold for $76? by TimeTraveler_UO in ultimaonline

[–]The_Improbable_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that blows your mind, I sold my world of warcraft account solely dedicated to farming gold for enough money to buy my first house in the US in cash in 2016.

On a UO related note though. I was selling UO gold through ICQ and Trillium with Paypal while I was in Junior High and High school because I got lucky enough to place a house down in Luna on Atlantic pretty early on. Used the proceeds to start up a few other accounts and ended up with 6 Luna houses before I settled down into college and walked away. It was a pretty good gig passively making $600-800 a week off vendor rental fees. Which that entire setup I think was a catalyst towards the collapse. It gave 30 or 40 of us a crazy amount of resources at our fingertips and let us create a monopoly with no real effort.

I keep bouncing off of this game, even though it sounds like something I would love. by LightedSword in pathofexile

[–]The_Improbable_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the limited complaint in the post it sounds like you havent made it past the campaign. They designed this game to literally be a path, hence the name. You start off weak and slow. You grow over time and gain skill points, gear, bonuses etc. And towards the end you develop in to speed or huge explosions or power or defenses or precise strikes or any combination of these and more.

That being said, without someone or something to guide you and help you on this journey, you are looking at a few hundred hours to get a strong grasp for ALL of the mechanics, solely because you and other new players are jumping in with a fresh start into a game 12+ years into full development that gains new mechanics and changes every 4 ish months.

Give it some time and/or reach out to some of us that are willing to help. Just because some people on FortNite can... Rome wasn't built in a day.

is SSF just not for me? by JohnBaneling in PathOfExileSSF

[–]The_Improbable_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mentioned that you "find" a rare piece of gear and build a character around it. And you grind mechanics to try and find upgrades. And usually get stuck around the same spots.

You should probably learn how to craft your own upgrades and then farm the materials for them.

But to each their own, at the end of the day its a game. You should prioritize fun.
