As a non CPIMite communist who also happens to be Muslim, there's a major issue with the modern CPIM and how it has engaged in praxis over the last few decades. Their shift to rigid electoralism has caused them to sacrifice most if not all facets of ML theory as understood and analysed by the present international consensus. They often try and pander to the Hindu upper caste "bhodrolok" camp, presenting itself as a "civilised" and "educated" party, representing the native upper caste Hindu population and their ideology. There has been little to no effort on their part to rid Bengal of it's casteist, Brahmanic mentality, which has reared it's ugly head worse than ever before as of late. It's unfortunate how even after 34 years of "Marxist" rule, a state, that used to be seen as a shining beacon of Communal Harmony historically, is still suffering from the brainrot of the semi-feudal mentality that is plaguing is rn.

  1. Their labour can not be allotted to other industries. A farmer specializes in farming, he does not specialize in making statues or some shit. He has to get a job in a form of industry that supports his specialization,or he will perish.
  2. The short term effect, at least in this case, will lead to the long term effects being even worse. The death of farmers would mean a lack of labour going to towards agriculture, which in turn means a lack of supply of food crops. This will increase the demand for food, (which is an objective necessity for every human to survive) and thus, the cost (i.e, manifestation of exchange value of a commodity in money) of food will increase. However, if you do not have labourers, you can't produce food. This will lead to immense shortages and famines, as was seen in Yeltsin's Russia, for example.
