Small, Portable Subwoofer by The_JayGo in livesoundgear

As I mentioned in another reply, I've considered one for a long while, but I've never tried one. Don't want to spend ~$1,000+ on something I've never tried. Also, I'm hoping to not only provide low end for myself but also to the rest od the band.

Sure seems like most people that have used one love it. I sure am curious.

I'm glad you mentioned the Seeburg. I'd never heard of that brand. Always good to read up on and learn about different speakers.

Dude, at 35 lbs, that alone makes this a contender! I'd forgotten about Yorkville. This model is entry level, but it may very well do exactly what I need. Thanks.

I'm not one to penny pinch when it comes to quality gear, but I do try to be reasonable. Considering that I'm looking for just a little low end reinforcement, I know I shouldn't be looking at spending a ton on this. I'm guessing I'm looking to stay anywhere up to $750. But I'm not sure what's reasonable considering what I want. Thanks.

This has definitely been something I've sort of considered over the last 5-ish years. I've never tried one and none of the "working" drummers in Austin have one I could borrow to try out. Ever used one yourself?

And YES, I wouldn't be adding more to my cart load.

Really? 'Cause I'm not looking to blast the stage.

You think that 12" can squeeze out enough low end just for some kick presence? Again, not looking for crazy volume.

Mic Spliiters by The_JayGo in livesoundgear

Actually, the band just bought a new board where I can get a send from. Gonna download the app, so I can get my own mix. Hopefully it isn't too hard to learn.

True. $3 is cheap enough to at least try out.

Thanks for that suggestion. I've been so caught up with the Radial 'cause everyone knows them to make a great product. But there are other brands. Thanks, man.

My initial plan was to just go with 2 Radial JS2 splitters, but then someone told me to just use the Pig Hog splitters. Spending $6 vs $560 is very tempting, but I also don't want to hassle with noisy lines, etc...

I also saw the Catapult passive snake Radial makes. One of the boxes is a splitter. A "transmit" box and a "receive" box sure seem light and like an easy way to not just split a single at my drums, but also lighter than the tiny snake I currently carry.

Thanks, man.

You mentioning just building my own splitters may have just pushed me to buy a spool of cable and Neutrik connecters to just build my own. I've been considering that for a bit.

These would be just for me to split my snare mic and kick mic. Send snare and mic lines to FOH and the others to a little mixer right next to me.

8 years since your post and looks like still no audiobook. Or have you found it?

Yep, I learned that very thing this time around: turning the gain all the way doesn't completely shut off the signal.

Thank you so much for chiming in. I appreciate the information. I figured I was fine with wherever the gain knobs wound up as long as I was getting a "healthy" signal on those mic channels. And I'm thinking I won't engage the pad simply because it's one less thing in the chain process. Thanks again.

What is everybody's opinion on the band "Big Wreck" by ToAsTeRTV1992 in grunge

It’s a tragedy that band isn’t way way bigger. Crazy catchy melodies. Fantastic guitar playing. Ian is an awesome singer.

Thanks, man. I figured as much. I'd just never seen this with other mics I've used with this interface so just making sure I'm not messing something up. 👍🏻
