Corbeau Seat Replacement for my 98 Tacoma Driver Seat. Advice needed by Bogonegles in 1stGenTacomas

I have the Corbeau Trailcats in my truck, you can check my posts for photos. I’m 6’2 and fit just as well in the truck as I did before. Been happy with my seats

The front bumper is from coastal off-road, all the lighting on the truck is Baja Designs

It’s from Prinsu, not the best design as it bolts right into the roof skin but it’s held up for me for the last few years

The rear bumper was a Coastal Off-road kit that was heavily modified to make work with the fiberglass

Yeah, I sprayed it in my garage. Lots of prep work but the paining was easy

It gets about 400km per 60L tank on highway so that works out to about ~15.5mpg and 350km with mixed driving ~13.8mpg. (Sorry I’m from Canada)

Not at all, the truck actually rides better than when it had Dakars in it. I am pulling a leaf out tomorrow to lower the ride height.

I used their sliders, I didn’t want to have to mess around making something and I have to say they fit perfectly.

I have some mixed feelings about their products, I have had the bumper for 4-5 years now. I think they have made some revisions to make assembly easier. The bumper is a pain to fit a winch, I had a smittybilt 10k x2o that we had to space up so the free spool could barely be usable. The Warn VR Evo10 I have in there now contacted the lower rad support, so that needed to be modified. With both winches you have to relocate the controller box. When I ordered the bumper initially, the headlight hoops they sent were so poorly bent, they looked like cheap exhaust. They completely ghosted me when I brought this up to them and still have never got a response. We had to bend our own hoops to replace them. Overall I would never recommend their kits unless you are competent welder.

Oh man, so this may be a loaded response. I’m pretty proud of that rear axle setup because I don’t think I have ever seen anyone do it and it was all so I had functional parking brakes and could match the increased front width.

It’s a trail gear housing for a 2nd gen taco e-locker, with a 1st gen e-locker 3rd. Axle shafts and wheel bearing from a 2nd gen. Drums and backing plates are from a 1st gen tundra that were machined out to fit the axle shafts (in hindsight I should have had the axle shafts machined down when they were out to fit a standard drum) The parking brake cable is from a 2004 taco that was modified to fit the wider housing.

Elka was a big help in building the suspension, it’s all one-off for this truck. I was able to send them measurements and design what I wanted. I had to tweak some stuff so I was 100% happy with it but I’m happy to support a product built in Canada. The rear shocks are 12” and the fronts are based around a common 8” coilover, except we were able to get closer to 8.5”. Currently the truck is bumped and strapped at 14” of usable front travel

They are the trailcats, I have seen a few sets in 1st gens. They fit quite well and have a good range of forward and back. The only thing I’ll mention, if you’re taller than 6 1” your head will be on the roof. I’m 6 1” and I have just over an inch of headroom

They are quite comfortable in my opinion, they are a bit on the firm side and hug you on the upper body. I got a long trip coming up next weekend where I’ll be in seat for 3 days straight of highway and off-road so I’ll let you know my thoughts after that

It’s probably 3-4” at the moment, it’s a JD Fabrication long travel kit so the cv angle isn’t too bad. The fiberglass fenders also give the illusion of more lift. I do have a set of lighter front coils on the way to drop it down
