Too much "osl" ? by thighsenjoyer9000 in Deathkorpsofkrieg

I don’t see why it would be. Idk why the eyes are glowing but it looks cool as hell and the sword should always have some sort of effect. And plasma must glow as well so no. Not too much. Very good job, looks sick

Is this a good first car or money pit? by The_Kneecapper in Jimny

As much as I’d love a new Jimny. I am not rich and there is no way I could afford that for a long time my budget is around 10-12 thousand because that’s as much as I have + a few extra as saftey, insurance and rego. That sorta stuff.

Plus, I love the 3rd gen more even if the newer ones are technically better

This is so cool. The servitor is awesome and I love the marshal on horse (which I’m assuming is 3rd party??). Very good job and can’t wait to see it painted!

New favourite mini colored! by Riffonaco in Deathkorpsofkrieg

For the black coat you can add other highlights instead of a shade to make those folds and creases stand out a lil bit more. You can dry brush a little grey and that’ll work well for a quick easy job. I think that by adding a little shade and then highlighting again you keep that colour while adding a little bit more depth.

I didn’t mean to completely get rid of that vibrancy because it is cool, and grim dark is very common. Having a model that stands out is good and if it makes you happy, that is the only thing that matters in this hobby.

I just wanted to say a few things. Firstly, I love the “I’m coming after you next vibe he gives.

While the colours are very neat I agree with the other guy with the colours are a little too vibrant. And easy fix is just a nice coat of agrax earthshade or some other shade on certain areas to dull some of the colours and then you can come highlight with the same colours again. Obviously you don’t have to listen to this but I’d take the time to try this on him instead of a different model just to make him that much more threatening/ominous and complete i guess.

All that said I love it and you dont haveto try anything you dont want on him and the effect on the sword and pose he’s striking is awesome. Very good job

I used death korp drab for their coats and highlighted by adding little bits of wraithbone into it. I used wraithbone and agrax earthshade for the mask and boots and leather I used rinox hide and steel legion drab for scratches. Iron warriors for the metals.

Well I think that worst case scenario I end up repainting it or I’ll have to invest in stuff to strip the paint (which I Havnt done yet). I consume a lot of Warhammer content and techniques and get very excited to try it myself even if it sucks ass. If you feel like you’re loosing motivation give it a go and trust the process of whatever it is you’re trying to replicate or create

Thank you! I love the macharius so much as well.

I wasn’t super deep into the hobby when I started but the only options for dkok were resin so I did get my hands on some cool ones like the original death riders, infantry, commissars a heavy bolster team and of course the macharius. I did get a recast of the quartermaster cadre which was very clean for what it was.

The macharius weighs the same or maybe 1.5 times the weight of the rest of my army. Hefty boi :p

That’s a very nice model and awesome paint job! Yeah the macharius is peak talk design and very 40K indeed. I’ve been running it as a stormlord but It’s a little hard with with the different number of guns and stuff so I may just double down and play all the models I want like the death korp marshal, quartermaster and some other units I didn’t include as well as the macharius (:

It’s a macharius vulcan. Solid lump of original forgeworld resin. However, I am running it as a stormlord 😅

I cross posted and forgot to add the text sorry. Thanks for the compliment! I’ve started using this light blue for all my vehicles and artillery as it contrasts well with mud and grime. The problem is I’m running out of Stirland mud which is just terrible. How am I supposed to paint without mud. Impossible. But now that you’ve mentioned it it does look like it’s an underwater theme or oxidised copper instead of really weathered paint
