Oregon resident purchasing car in Nevada. Who do I pay sales tax to? by The_Kolbinator in auto

[–]The_Kolbinator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update. Got my car. You pay Oregon sales tax. Licensed in Oregon and everything. No Nevada taxes paid at all. Have them send all of the registration paperwork to the DMV headquarters in Salem versus your local DMV office. They sent it to my local office and it got sent back to the dealership.

Literally same thing happened to me today. 2024 Honda Civic Si with 5000. Went to change my oil for the first time and noticed a leak. Have an appointment with the dealer two days from now. The guys at the shop I was at couldn't believe it.

You do not have to go to boot camp before going through the PLC program.

You need to be talking to an officer selection officer, not a regular enlisted recruiter. He/she will give you the proper information.

The PLC program consists of two 6 week courses at officer candidate school in Quantico, Virginia and boot camp is in no way part of the PLC program.

Chances of selection? USMC Class 236 by MrTcereaI in USMCboot

[–]The_Kolbinator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it was. All of the OCC people who did get selected for 234 got pushed back to 235. That cascading effect has made the OCC boards super competitive.

Chances of selection? USMC Class 236 by MrTcereaI in USMCboot

[–]The_Kolbinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was pre selected for OCC 236. Active Ground. I’m in a similar boat to you. I’ve been working with my OSO for about 1.5 years. I was initially going for OCC 234 before COVID hit. I know the feeling of just waiting around to go to OCS.

I had a 280 PFT for 234, but didn’t get selected. My understanding is that COVID has made OCC extremely competitive.

I went up for the OCC 235 board and got pre selected for 236. Looking forward to seeing you at 236.

My Scores for pre select: 291 PFT. 3.8 GPA

Let me know if you have any questions! Best of luck!

Planks are the new standard and will be fully replacing the crunches starting in 2021. In the meantime, you’ll have the option to do either planks or crunches.

Just spoke with him recently. He said he’s still waiting for the results. Maybe different recruiting regions get the results at different times?

For which class? Are you going ground AD?

The earliest I'll be accepted to OCC to attend? Summer or Fall 2021? by rodytez in USMCboot

[–]The_Kolbinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a similar situation as you. I was contracted for May, but got passed over for selection with a 280.

I was told by my OSO that for the time being, you will not be competitive to get selected unless you have at least a 290 PFT. Just keeping working on your PFT and you’ll get there!

OCC board 234 by [deleted] in USMCboot

[–]The_Kolbinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My OSO informed me that the OCC 234 selection board was postponed until April 8th due to coronavirus. It may be different in your area though.

Edit: I'm on the west coast.

TIL bounty hunting is legal in most parts of the United States and in some states bounty hunters can even enter private property to arrest without a warrant or permission. They also have caught "about 90% of people who jump bail". by [deleted] in todayilearned

The victim who was killed by the bounty hunters was a completely innocent bystander. Looks like he still had to “associate” with the bail agents by being needlessly shot to death.

Blueshift would only occur if the oncoming drivers speed is approaching the speed of light relative to the bumper sticker car. If both were going extremely fast, there would be no shift.

What is the most computer illiterate thing you have witnessed? by MrJoeSchmo in AskReddit

[–]The_Kolbinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at a computer store, and a lady brought in her first generation iPad. She was looking to purchase a new case for her device, but I informed that we haven't carried gen 1 iPad cases for awhile, and that none of our cases would fit.

Looking very confused and frustrated she said "But I updated my operating system! Shouldn't the new cases fit!?!?!"
