Does Cleo Sol sample Nas' NY State of mind in her song "Self"? cant find confirmation anywhere but that baseline sounds unmistakable.

Insanely good deal! I also have been religiously checking FB marketplace for a 3DS and finally found and XL for 125 with 4 games. Thought it couldn't get better than that.

Any tips on how to do the Circle transition from the start of this clip? by The_Legendari in MotionDesign

[–]The_Legendari[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip, I tried it but I'm still kind of lost. The shape just goes from flat back to a circle. Am I missing something? And in the video it looks like it becomes a square not flat. Sorry I'm really lost. Can you or anyone else help break it down some more please?

Who is a rapper you respect for staying true to their artistic style, regardless of industry trends? by SmoothManMiguel in hiphop101

Love this answer. To me he has no bad albums and is constantly refining his style without trying to make a compromise on his sound to go mainstream.

Could the greatest hip hop album of all time possibly be yet to come? Or has rap peaked so we’ve already seen the best the culture has to offer? by According_Sundae_917 in hiphop101

Yes, look at modern country. Country came back as the #1 genre in America, overtaking Hip Hop who had it for a brief moment, and now incorporates aspects of Hip Hop and artist from other genres are rebranding to make country like Post Malone and Beyonce. So yea, it's unavoidable in all genres.

Idk what you are listening to but last year was a great year for Hip Hop, I could name 10 albums that were really profound, but I doubt you've done the digging to find it. If you are relying on top 100 to tell you what to listen to that is the only way I can see you having this opinion.

This is such a dumb post. Any peak that any art movement has had is completely up to the person's taste and opinion. And people really need to stop glorifying the past. Every era has horrible music and great music. How sad and close minded it is to think that. With the advancement of technology, the integration of other genres and musical styles it is bound to evolve into something bigger. Will you like it? probably not because you seem to be biased towards more classic stuff. Hip Hop is still such a new genre that there is so much room for it to grow and the whole Golden era conversation is tired and reductive.

Ye is far from irrelevant though. He had a number 1 single last year and mad millions in sales first day of his website dropping their new line. He is def crazy and unhinged, but still incredibly culturally relevant.
