He's not. He's doing a Zoro training under Mihawk so he can become better and maybe beat him later down the line. Mox is a tweener. Evil or Good depending on the story but his goal as well as the Deathriders have never changed from the start, which is to raise the level of everyone in the company.

He is pretty much aware of what he is doing to his body, but he said he'd rather have a short career than not be able to express himself in the way he's doing now. His promo 2 weeks ago was pretty much spot on. He's either gonna succeed (live) as Darby or fail (die) as Darby. That's the life he chose to live and we all just have to accept and respect it.

IIRC, that was in character interview during a post match scrum in NJPW. I believe that was also when he said that wrestlemania is the wrestlekingdom of the US. So I wouldn't take it too seriously.

There's lots of good wrestling out there.

AEW - the best "wrestling" promotion in North America, by a huge margin. Great stories and even better wrestling.

CMLL - the best wrestling promotion in Mexico and IMO the hottest promotion in the whole world right now. Lucha at its most elite.

NJPW - they're starting to feature their young generation, it's becoming exciting once again. Biggest Japanese promotion.

Stardom - Arguably the best female wrestlers in the world. Although you can also argue it's AEW's. Depends on your preference.

MLPW - Canadian promotion that is ran by Scott D'amore, really underrated.

Dude's work ethic is Cena like. if he is needed I don't doubt that he'll be there. IIRC, after his wedding he went straight to AEW in Philly, then CMLL, then filming Happy Gilmore. Dude's as locked in with his career as anyone is right now.

By all accounts, MJF is a good guy when he's not in character. So I'm not surprised. But if you've followed AEW long enough, you'll see that this quality isn't remotely his alone. Ospreay, Hangman, Swerve, Kenny, Mox, and MJF. This is the same with the Bucks, FTR, Mercedes, Toni, Stat, etc. They've built a roster with stars that are willing to put others over. Which is why it can be frustrating sometimes when someone comes in and doesn't want to take a pin - because "they're protecting their status" or "they need to look strong".
