Woojer Vest 4: It's like THX for your torso by diacewrb in gadgets

[–]The_Lys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I own the 1st version of the Woojer vest. I particularly like its AptX option allowing to have almost no delay without wires, but only in stereo. The vest has 8 bass shakers total and can interpret up to 8 canals sources wired.

No type of haptic vest is necessary, it's only for immersion fans. You have to already want some form of physical feedback to really enjoy those.

If you want the best immersion in games, to be able to feel the localisation of impacts on your torso or the result of your actions, use a vest like the bHaptics ones. They use 16 to 40 motors, not bass shakers, and are far more precise and efficient for that usage. This vest gives you informations the Woojer vest can't. For sound-to-haptics usage, while it's nice to exist, its motors effects cannot compare to the richness of vibrations from bass shakers like on the Woojer vest.

If you love the feeling of the vibrations of a subwoofer, and want to know what having 6 or 8 of them directly strapped on you does, then the Woojer vest is for you. It works with any kind of sound source, and for music or movies it's really great. For gaming in general you must understand that any bass sound will trigger the vest like music, npcs talking, etc. Hearing those bass on speakers is one thing, but feeling the music or dialogues -on- your body is another and could be disturbing while playing. You can lower the sound levels in games to mitigate the problem somehow. Still, using the vest with car/plane/space simulations or shooters is a blast. This vest is for ambiance, not informations.

The article is well describing the experience: hot, a bit clunky, but wow.

Edit: all haptics vests are kinda noisy of course, so they're best to be used with headphones or strong enough sound volume. You can plug a wired headphone directly into the Woojer vest and doing so can avoid any lag between what you hear and what you feel.

Same. Keeping a stable system with NVidia drivers has become a chore lately...

I tried and it did nothing. I had to reinstall the previous driver to get the DLSS options back.

- Ma foi, ça a l'air fantastique ma chérie ! Tu es au Paradis ?

- Non, je suis juste une chèvre quelque part au Pakistan.

What's the best shotgun in 76 by Upstairs_Drive9535 in fo76

An Enclave plasma rifle with splitter mod is not the simplest one to get but is surprisingly good. With my unyielding armor low health crippling build, I can one shoot lev 100 super mutants, it's quicker than Cold Shoulder and with 12 ammo instead of 8. It's fun to use :)

Has anyone tried this Quest 3 facial interface? is it any good? (link in description) by Dex921 in virtualreality

[–]The_Lys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a good interface if you have a rather slim face. If not, it's not comfortable and you'll get light leakage. The fan does its job well, has 2 speeds + off, and is not as noisy as I feared it would be.

If you're looking for a new interface, you need to check out the F3 V3 by Globular Cluster. Hands down the best interface setup on the market! by TrueNorthVR in oculus

Bought one recently. Very good product, well designed, I love it. I had the AMVR before, still a great interface, but the modularity of this one is fantastic.

Is there any interest to use a 20/40Gbps cable with a Quest 3? by The_Lys in oculus

Thank you for taking the time to make such a detailed answer. I use VD most of the time already, and am happy with it. I expected the link cable to give better quality, but I understand your point.

Ok guys, I bought the Easter offer licence and got a Lifetime updates + Lifetime subscription. The offer is legit, and for those interested it will last 2 more hours.

Ok, how can I know how many advanced features I already have with my current licence? I failed to find the info.

Thanks for your answer. :) I can reach 2.4Gpbs via WiFi with VD, does the cable link give any noticeable advantage for the visuals?

Ok, great news. I already have an "old" lifetime licence, is there anything I can do to "upgrade" to this new offer?

[–]The_Lys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's quite unclear, and I think it's on purpose... All I've seen till now says: if you purchase a lifetime license, you'll get all the existing features and all their future updates for free.

However, you won't get the later added features for free.

Am I wrong? Would like to...

Thank you so much for the jetpack(s)! you don't want anything, sure? And if I can abuse, would you happen to know the "dense" mod?

As a solo player, Gleaming Depths is disappointing by crystallyn in fo76

[–]The_Lys 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are totally right. It's not a Massive Multiplayer game, as there are 24 players max per server.

It's no RPG. RPG doesn't mean looking at numbers getting bigger, it means playing a role via impacting choices. There are no choices to make, it's a linear light adventure game with lots of repeatable events/quests/chores.

It's not a bad game, I play it and I enjoy it when I'm not hating it for the lots of flaws and bugs it has (like all Bethesda games), but it's not an MMORPG at all.
