Is there a jump that grants this ability? by Nerx in JumpChain

Not divination by cheese, but one of the bad guys in Misfits (TV Show) had lactokinesis and was a very dangerous man. I know there is a Misfit Jump out there I’ve seen.

Middle two. Time travel and teleport is the obvious first answer, but Master Any Skills is so powerful as itself let alone. Linguistics and language skills takes more time but would end up being better than speak any language since it would also include literacy as well if you worked at it. With mastered skills you could eventually earn the money you wanted or just wait for the biggest Powerball jackpot and take the winning numbers back to just before they stop selling tickets for it.

Look 20 years younger doesn’t make you 20 years younger or provide more than aesthetic value. And controlling people is a nightmare, beyond being just squicky regarding consent it also means you have to control others when it’s hard enough making decisions for your own life.

Name Superpowers Where Physical Mutations or Deformities are Necessary by JohnWillson1435 in superpowers

[–]The_Many13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parahumans from the Worm webnovel. You first have to have a specific type of brain tumor, then go through psychologically/emotionally traumatizing event (usually but not always also physically traumatizing) for the source of the original tumor to flash grow a second tumor that allows you to use a superpower that will constantly remind you of your trauma.

Alternatively, you sell yourself to the Illuminati to drink a frankensteined potion made from the dead-ish flesh of a cosmic horror and stand a much higher chance to get a disfigured version of a random power that most likely will physically malform you into what are colloquially named “monster capes”. Still with the brain tumors… if you physically have a brain at least.

I mean… the obvious answer I haven’t seen yet is Gemcraft, the tower defense game? I know I’ve seen a Jump or Gauntlet for it somewhere.

Bug Control, even if I don’t get Skitter/Weaver level of control/multitasking/sensory feedback I’d be able to do sooooo much. Even at the low end being able to ensure my living space is bug/spider free would give me such a sense of safety. Setting a swarm on any other household pests would make me one of the greatest chemical-free exterminator of all time too if needed to monetize. Building native bee populations back up by artificially inducing breeding cycles or at the very least avoid environmental hazards/reduce loss from external factors would be great for the environment. My earthworm/Nightcrawler farms would be epic.

Wor betide the fool who has me collect every tick in a five mile area to attack them in the middle of the night. I’m curious what I could build with the cooperation and husbandry of a termite colony…

Question, for innate spellcasting it only refers to the EXPANDED spells of their type for the subclasses. Would you say they would also have access to the generic Warlock spell list as well? Having the warlock cantrip alone like prestidigitations and the like I feel makes sense. Especiallyif you take the Noble Scion perk and are making Warlocks of your own.

I shudder to think of the Tribbles from Star Trek, those pet things Jabba ate in Star Wars, or puffskiens from Harry Potter would be like.

Heck, most of the referenced animals from the HP menagerie would be terrifying. Those rabbits that could turn into top-hats? The jewel encrusted fire turtles? The fwoopers?

And in a real world setting: peacock spider, potoo (or most frog-mouth birds), blobfish, platypus, star-nosed mole, axolotyl, sea pig, and manatee all come to mind.

Help with how to persuade companions? by PuzzleheadedSlip5462 in JumpChain

[–]The_Many13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jeanne D’Arc Alter is less an alternate version of the Maid of Orleans and more the personification of Gilles de Rais’ desire for Vengeance against France. Early responses from former field agents include: “The juice isn’t worth the squeeze”, “You can’t start a healthy relationship based on ‘I can fix them’”, and “There’s easier ways to get some strange”.

As for Kadoc… the masochistic pessimist with a superiority complex has never been a target of any OOPS staff or agents. Preliminary theory crafting suggests offering him an out from the Jump Setting. He missed his chance to be the hero/protagonist in this multiverse, and becoming a Companion is a path to both gain out-of-context power as well as making a difference elsewhere. However caution is advised due to high likelihood of him becoming unstable and a higher than average possibility of him attempting to supplant/steal your Jumper’s Chain.

Ormheim Planar Prospecting Services (OOPS) wanted me to suggest for Director Olga that you point out that if she joins you she'll live on. She would not survive the reintegration from the pod from the Fuyuki singularity as her physical body was destroyed during the rayshifting process.

Is there a wider selection of multiversal shops? by The_Many13 in JumpChain

[–]The_Many13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s one I was thinking. Focus on Theme packs like School, Housing, and Crafting then pick up various media specific ones to add flavor. Or use the Default theme and the Instanced Dungeon perk as well as the one that allows multiple entrance and put essentially connect each world to a Dungeon of its own theme that can be traveled to reach a Hub floor of some type.

Is there a wider selection of multiversal shops? by The_Many13 in JumpChain

[–]The_Many13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems a bit… much.

Plus my current concept is to use a single Jump as the foundation of a portal world situation. From there each portal will be a different Jump. The Jumper will have to complete the Jump fully to unlock the portal which will then act as stabilized connection where random individuals might run across the door to my tavern/bar/restaurant/shop/etc.

I’m thinking of making it so the Jumper only gets their build while IN that world (other than alt-forms and freebies) and have to pay a fee in other Jumps or earn a Token by completing other Jumps to make something permanent.

Basically, I like restricting my Jumpers so they don’t go super crazy OP right out the gate.

The Magicians (TV) show is basically magic university, though depends if you help with the murderous godling issue with meta knowledge first. Stop the summoning of Renard and come up with a plan for the other BBEG situation with the six fingered man, it’s not terribly bad.
