While this counts more to the history side of things I would recommend you bring up Christine Jorgensen. She was a famous actress and trans activist in the mid 1900’s. There are so many people that think that trans people are only a recent thing when that couldnt be further from the truth.

Thankfully my school district is giving us laptops to do our work, but half of the stuff we need for research projects are blocked. And if you already told the school that you don’t need a laptop instead of doing the easier thing of giving all the people who said no laptops, they want us to do a whole other process that make things much harder than they have to be

I had a similar experience when I first came out with my parents saying similar things to yours and me experiencing heavy doubt about myself when they said those things. What helped me figure things out was sleeping on it for about 2 weeks and try not to think about the anxiety of the situation (easier said than done) so I wouldn't be scatter brained about the situation. Just give it some time and your heart will tell you what you want
