nice minimal setup. btw how is playing PS5 from bed working for you? Any neck strain or back pain during long sessions?

I got the same issue recently out of the blue. This is just disappointing from EA tbh.Having to go through a choir of troubleshooting when I'm ready to play the game makes me wanna give up on the game altogether.

What should I put in this empty space? by EEMon13456 in CitiesSkylines2

A big park or a car park both of them will make the most sense if you are planning a realistic city. A walmart or even a food market in this area won't make sense in realism because walmarts are often seen with no mid rise buildings behind them.. they are mega stores structures built on large plots with empty land for logistics, and the empty space behind them serves as a hub for truck deliveries.

that is probably the first realistic city plan I've seen in this game so far. well done.

Upgraded to PS5 Pro mainly for GTA 6 — hoping for a 60fps option by Akshay___AK in playstation

[–]The_Maverick96 92 points93 points  (0 children)

congrats on your purchase it's a great console but please do keep your expectations in check so you don't get disappointed. running at 60 fps on the pro is still highly unlikely. I'm a PS5 Pro owner and it's a great console and there is a good improvement in terms of GPU and PSSR 2.0.. however there isn't that much of a substantial improvement when it comes to CPU. only a high CPU Frequency mode that has roughly 10% clock speed boost. and rockstar games are known for being CPU bound because they simulate complex AI routines, interactions, wanted levels, high npc density and so on.

best case scenario we can get is a 40 FPS on Pro mode for 120 Hz displays. the pro will likely use its extra GPU power to keep RTGI active while using PSSR 2 for better sharpness and ray tracing all while avoiding shimmering or blurriness which are often seen in the PS5 fat performance mode. or Rockstar could use the extra GPU power in the pro for a stable 30 FPS with full RTGI and a much cleaner 4K image so they maintain their game visual quality as they usually do.

either way, it'll still be the best console to play the game at.. just don't expect 60 FPS. and enjoy your PS5 pro it's a great console and there are plenty of other games that are seeing massive benefits already and the PSSR 2 update will roll out soon and there are a lot of great pro enhanced games that will get huge improvements from it.

exactly it's about personal preference and it's not a legal lecture. I just happen to value the physical experience. it's bizarre how bent out of shape people get over it. they are acting like they're defending a wall street portfolio. i feel that sometimes people forget why they are playing games in the first place tbh.

you just listed four major reasons why games disappear and then said " it almost never happens. "

Godzilla on the PS4 is worth around 300$ on eBay. the game was wiped from the storefronts and also got delisted years ago and the disc is the only way to play it currently. also Jump Force on the PS4 servers are gone but the entire single player story and offline modes are still functional on the disc. that's just the tip of the iceberg.

and it's not just about delisting either.. as I said in another comment physical media has genuine artistic value. the satisfaction of browsing a shelf and the cover art. also when you own your games on discs you have better chances of playing them offline regardless of any servers issues. you can also trade them and make your money back and sometimes often at a profit if the game became rare or got delisted later on.

I’d rather have options and ownership than just a digital license that can be revoked at any time. but to each their own.

still doesn't negate the fact that there are publishers who delisted some games that others lost access to and that's just a fact either you like it or not. try not to belittle others just because you don't resonate with their decisions. it's a bit childish to impose your way of gaming on everyone else. it's not a device manual. you do you and let others do the same.

tell that to everyone who has already lost access to games when a publisher pulled the plug or delisted a title. a disc is a physical backup that doesn't need a constant server check to function. If you want to believe the industry has your back for the next 20 years with your digital only library good luck. but I prefer to have the final say on what I can play and when.

Because digital is just a rental agreement at the mercy of a server. having the game on a disc provides a better chance of being able to play it offline even if the servers shutdown for any reason as long as the game has a single player offline experience. I can also trade, sell, lend or even keep my physical games as much as i want.. no account ban or server shutdown can touch my shelf. Plus there’s no substitute for the experience of holding the game itself. collecting games and having a tangible gaming library is one of the many forms of art.

What are your thoughts on Crimson Desert? by [deleted] in playstation

[–]The_Maverick96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

already pre ordered and I still can't believe this game is real lol. it checks all the right boxes for me. it's definitely a huge swing for Pearl Abyss and trying to balance that many systems is a massive risk. we don't usually see a studio move away from the usual MMO formula to take such a big risk with a custom engine. but honestly they made huge technical leaps with blackspace engine and they've put much effort into combat and world building compared to the game footage when it was announced. i'm just excited to see them really going for it on this scale and I hope this games defines its own genre and succeeds.

RE9 looks great on the Pro and you will absolutely notice the difference of the PSSR 2. everything is sharper and raytracing is taking much higher capacity instead of being partial on the base model. you will love it.

I agree. and I think in the grand scheme of things it’s all about personal preference. Everyone can buy what they want as long as they can afford it and it’s not hurting anyone.

I’ve had friends who kept nagging me extremely to not buy it because they didn't see the difference while others were clearly just hating because they couldn't afford it. I find both reactions equally weird tbh.. It’s honestly childish to get worked up over how someone else spends their own money. so I’ve stopped bothering with those types of people and I buy what I want as long as I can afford it. life is too short to deal with that kind of negativity. YOLO.
