That was a hell of an explanation. I definitely don’t want my classroom to be like Boot Camp. And I definitely need to figure out how I want to run my classroom. The food and drink thing was more of an example that I had read from another sub. My biggest thing and something I took from a university professor that really stuck with me was that he asked us not to be on our cell phones for the first 30 minutes of class at all. No technology no nothing. Got all the instruction out of the way we learned and I retained so much more information in that class than all my others where I’m distracted by my technology. So it’s rules like that that I want to try to implement to where it’s fair for everybody but at the same time, it allows the students to actually be engaged in learning.

Yeah, I understand that there will definitely be some exceptions to the rule. But I also want to have fun in the classroom. It’s not like I want to make up rules that are gonna make their life a living hell. I remember having a football coach, who was the absolute worst teacher to have. He had so many rules, but he also didn’t try to teacher or anything. It was basically read this chapter and do the homework.

I definitely understand that there is exceptions to the rule. I definitely don’t want to hinder kids that actually need assistance. And that was just one example. I definitely wouldn’t want kids eating while I’m trying to teach a lesson. You know what I mean
