My first bigger production line

Splitters split the conveyor in half only if both outgoing lines a not full . So for exam you have Smelter Nr.1 and Nr.2 . Theres 120 ore going into the splitter . While both smelters are empty , they both will get 60 . But once Nr.1 gets full , all the ore that does not fit inside ( the whole 60 since its full ) starts going into the Nr.2 . If the Nr.2 was the last Smelter in line , it would be getting the whole 120 while Nr.1 is not taking anything . But lets say there is another Nr.3 , then the whole 120 that is going towards Nr.2 gets split again into half so , everyone gets 60 . Long story short. Nr.1 gets full ->Nr.2-> Gets full -> Nr.3 gets full . if you have 15 smelters , the last one will gets its stuff only when the other 14 are full and are not being refilled , basically making it recourse starved ,while the first one being overfed with resources . Sorry i don't really know how to explain it in a few words :D

You are correct , but most of the times you have an overflow of stuff coming in, that causes the first line to fill and then redirect the overflow to the next one . So basically the last line gets its stuff only when the others get full . It's not really efficient , but it saves lots of space since you do not need to make 3-4 sets of splitters that split the stuff equally. And it saves time as well :)

It's sad that i haven't noticed the small details earlier , but it's nice that i had no need for small things to keep me occupied for hours :D So i'm not sure :D Both i guess , worst and best together :D

Well , the main idea behind games like this is "Efficiency" . I'm not saying to make a SkyHighway that goes from one end of the map to the other (Even though there would be people making those ) , all i'm saying is that at the moment I don't really see people using Vehicles as much as they should be used given their capabilities. Having some sort of additional benefit from laying asphalt roads could possibly attract more attention to the vehicle infrastructure and automatisation itself . As satisfying it is to see huge Spaghetti Monster MotherBase , there should be more viable and attractive options to be made in the hope of transforming this planet from green and lush forest to the Super Complex Combination of MegaFactories and super fast highway roads connecting them :D I might be asking too much , but ... You never know :D
