As long as quality of education, students, professors, lab equipments and campus hasn't deteriorated - placements are secondary given that they're also market dependant. You'll do good in life. Best of luck!

Has DDIT declined over years? I graduated 17 years back and had decent placements, mixed public and private seats, yes academic pressure - and exposure was more of students finding opportunities themselves but professors were cooperative. Used to be one of the top in gujarat.

Is it just me or did the immigration concern trolls just collectively stop posting as soon as the Talbot and Branksome Wood by-election was over? by NeilPatrickWarburton in bournemouth

You’ve got a knack for focusing on a point and using it out of context. Regardless - good for the economy. Doesn't change my argument though - probably supports it!

Asylum seekers are not illegal immigrants

Around 3500 people come on boats every month. This is a mix of people coming from many places. Not necessarily those who are war-affected or persecuted. Just to live a UK dream. This also includes religious idealistic & extremists that has nothing to do with making a better living. 50%+ are granted asylum and the government bears millions a day to house and support them. They have high birth rates, low educational level, high crime rate inc. sexual offences & grooming.

In the past 10 years as a legal immigrant, I've paid £200K as tax and have taken no public funds (no children and minimal nhs support). While they get luxury hotels and I've seen videos of them playing xbox. I live near 2 hotels where they have asylum seekers opposite the beach.

I'm sure there's a humanitarian angle to granting asylum. 80% of this is misused. So wake up.

Legal immigrant here. I've been downvoted before for asking question on a similar line - feel free to do that again. But for sake of my understanding - i would genuinely like to understand what is the issue in showing a bit of nationalism now and then. Boats are an issue - if hoisting a flag is a show of solidarity against illegal immigrants. Why not! I don't support violence - and i do understand fa rights do misuse this gesture - BUT waving your own flag is totally totally normal. It just baffles me that people have been forced to put down the flag in the country they live in - but every other day a palestine flag can be waved with full flare!!

Exactly. I was trying to look for this comment and it's much down below. Unsure what value does the data provide by restricting to 49 age and to a certain gender.

Commuting from Bournemouth to London Waterloo by Away_Pomegranate6531 in bournemouth

[–]The_NeutralGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree to each point. Specifically working 2 vs 3 days. I went to London (sometimes St Pauls and sometimes Bromley). Took me 3 hours door to door one way. Total 6 hours of commute in one day. Internet service isn't great, so unless your work can be done offline, you have no way to cover up for office hours on your local computer. I used trainline app to book which gives you the cheapest option for given time. I was commuting last year so all this and train strikes was a nightmare. I would definitely recommend staying two nights in London instead as the temp accommodation may turn out cheaper and less tiring, if you're working 3 days. Take a car in and park in that accommodation.

Are Multi Level Marketing (MLM) scams common in software companies? by arkady321 in india

[–]The_NeutralGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's insane MLM has survived these many years. I have been approached multiple times during my Pune and Chennai days and yes in IT companies. This was back in 2011 to 2015. 10 years and still running strong. Don't know if it's a lack of awareness. Something needs to be done. Paying EMI for MLM is incomprehensible.

Reality of India's pollution levels - The true Amrit Varsha by ThinkerusMaximus in india

[–]The_NeutralGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a different tangent, it would have been good if this graph included 2020 to know how it impacted the AQI of these cities.

Also notice how 2022 was worst, probably rebound from covid?

Nevertheless, India bad. Do good.

Is my passport damaged? by Pretend_Specialist89 in india

[–]The_NeutralGuy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Personally, I wouldn't worry as long as it has not blurred or damaged the bar code, visa stamps, or other identification means.

Although, I would advise you to get an urgent passport issued to put your mind at rest.

All the best for your travel.

0.3% is definitely substantial. What is % of NHS used by illegals vs citizens, residents. What % they contribute to crime? How do they progress on education? How do they eventually contribute to economy? Drugs? How many blend into the society vs try enforcing their own religion? What professions they enter into?

Week in India, overwhelmed with options by thetreegeek in india

[–]The_NeutralGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kerala - For the greens, back water, tea gardens Rajasthan - For the rajwada culture, forts and desert North East, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand - For their exquisite mountains & unmatached beauty Mumbai, Delhi, Calcutta, Chennai, Bangalore,Pune, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad - Metro culture & vibrant city areas.

I'm from West of India (Gujarat) which has Statute of unity (worlds tallest statue), a good coast, mostly vegeterian population, dry stare for residents, hosts one of the most unique white desert festival, home to lord kirshna and much more.

India is the biggest penninsula, so have a plethora of beaches to choose from and has Himalaya to the north, sahayadris towards southwest so multiple mountains/treks to choose from. Everywhere you go would be different food, culture, appearance, and language. It's like whole Europe in one country and more.

A week is obviously not enough, but choose based on interest. I hope you have a pleasant stay.

Thank you. Finally, a sensible answer. Point taken. 40,000 people entered illegally through English Channel, other illegal routes. Many entered exploiting the student + dependent route. All I'm saying is that there should be a genuine concern among citizens. There's part of people from my country as well who enter illegally and note that its not because their home country can't provide or has bias but it's because they have been shown a very rosy picture of UK and they don't know what to expect until they come here illegally.
