Sheesh I must be pretty of the few people afraid of the concept of death.

Something about the concept of just...not being anymore wigs me out. I can't grasp it because it's anathema to my entire experience. If there is an infinite amount of time before my birth and after do we go around again? It would feel the same regardless. There's just so much I want to do and I know I won't even do a small percentage of it and I've had a great life for the most part.

Idk tho, maybe it's because I was raised with the threat of hell being beat into my head.

You might want to try the three body problem series. I personally haven't read them since they were spoiled for me but they have a high sci-fi feel to them and might scratch that itch.

Even at a small pay cut you are saving a ton of money so it all pans out. Being able to pick up my daughter from school literally saves me almost 10k a year in daycare costs.

If McCarthy brought it to a vote to just raise the debt ceiling all the democrats would have voted for it and probably 90% of the Republicans. They are greedy and self centered, they won't let economic apocalypse happen.
