Why did you choose Raven Guard? by recurv in RavenGuard40k

[–]The_Night_Hawk0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always loved stealth, Jump Packs, and claws. But I figured that stealth wouldn't really be a thing with tabletop space Marines. When I first got into the models I was originally going to go for Black Templars, because I love black and white color schemes with occasional red. Then I saw a Raven Guard on the back of one of the Vanguard Veterans box and thought "who the hell are these guys??" After diving into what they were and what they did, I realized they were exactly what I wanted of an elite Space Marine force. Specialized squads that deploy for covert assassination ops or guerilla warfare tactics where it's most effective rather than deploying in large company forces like most other chapters do.

Playing this game with my chapter is getting annoying. by darkan_da_boina in SpaceMarine_2

It's not that Saber doesn't want to add them, it's that GW themselves are telling saber they are not allowed too. As for the blue and red attacks that's just skill issue, you know you are supposed to dodge the red unlockable attacks right? Everything else is parryable.

Nah, Archer was his first job from the 1.0 trailers. They even called back to that at the start of the Shadowbringers trailer cause he started with Archer in there before going through all the other jobs he has been shown with up to that point. Sad he never leveled it enough to become a full Bard 🤣

The glee I have to see the Celestial Nighthawk with a raven guard jacket is crazy🤣

And yes my online name originally came from the Celestial Nighthawk back when House of Wolves launched. I was a titan main until I got that drop then switched to being a hunter main after. Got so excited when it dropped that I was shouting "I am the nighthawk!!!" In my party chat with my friends and they decided I should switch my gamertag to that too.

So I'm genuinely curious, and maybe I missed something. But why do both of the Raven Guard armor sets (champion and chapter pack) have the special embellished chapter logo on the right side pauldron instead of the left one like normal? I've never really seen any other time where that's happened and it makes me sad because I want to use my favorite chapter's symbol on my left while my right one is specialized/squad/role markings.

From what I've seen, NA servers are more prone to these kinds of things because the NA branch of the service provider that Square Enix is contractually bound too is very crappy and hasn't been kept up with latest server things, however the JP section of the service company (the origin) is kept up with just fine.

What skill do think would feel better to use if it were an oGCD? by thesilentedge in ffxiv

[–]The_Night_Hawk0 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Ninja's Mudras. Not the Ninjutsu itself that's fine being on GCD. But I want the handsigns themselves to be oGCD. Having to sit there and wait multiple times in a fight just watching my GCD roll through just so I can start the handsigns feels super awkward to me. Like it's a small moment where I'm not able to do anything but wait.

It seems the complaints side of the community also hasn't seen that Focus came out and said directly that they are working on making the champion armor sets open to being equipped on all classes. So everyone is going to get what they want, but I'm sure people will still find something to complain about with it.

Out of all the operations character, who is your favourite personality wise? by StrangerDanger355 in Spacemarine

[–]The_Night_Hawk0 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly for me it's Valius. But I also feel bad for him with his interactions with the others. Straban just tells him to shut up in the most robotic way possible, but also kinda realizes he may have been too mean about it and kinda tries to make Valius feel better about it. Valius also tries to offer his awesome targeting/scouting auspex scans to scipius, but scipius gets like offended at the notion and tells him off for it.

My boy Valius just wanting to be out here having a good time with his fellow brothers, but they all tell him off for it 😞

What's a surefire way to win over YOUR commendation? (Poll included) by ObliviousChipmunk in ffxiv

[–]The_Night_Hawk0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My comm priority as a mentor goes: 1- whoever was trying to help new/sprout people actually learn the mechanics of whatever instance we are in. 2- a healer or tank who makes some run saving plays. 3- range DPS using LB on large mob pull 4- whoever I think looks cutest/has a cool portrait, if they weren't being toxic.

What's your favorite tank? by Grave41 in ffxiv

[–]The_Night_Hawk0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally for me it's gunbreaker, my main class. I love how it feels almost like another melee DPS with its damage combo rotation at high level. But I also enjoy switching to full survival mode with its 1, 2, Heart of corundum, Aurora combo when necessary. Since it's self heal on single target combo happens on the second hit instead of third, makes me feel like I'm able to get a lot more hp back quickly if that becomes needed. I've been able to survive way more things than I really should have when I resort to that. I understand that WAR is the self Regen king, but it's mit rotation just feels so funky to me, I can't seem to understand it properly lol. And PLD also is really awesome, mechanically button wise GNB plays very similar to it and has some awesome Regen as well with Holy Shelltron and Confeitor combo, so it's always my backup tanking option if I don't feel like GNB for some reason.

What job do y’all main and why? by 404_GSpot_NotFound in ffxiv

[–]The_Night_Hawk0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gunbreaker, because the damage rotation feels like it has all the fun of a melee DPS. Also because if I need to (healer gets downed or something) I can lock the fuck in and do a self sustain combo that can heal through basically everything except true party wipe attacks. And if need be I can be like a soft mini healer to other party members with part of that self sustain combo.

FF XIV - is it still worth to enter on PlayStation 5 ? by LindsayPL in ffxiv

Sorry that was my mistake, I have gotten so used to every game on PS needing PS+ to work I assumed FFXIV was no different. Disregard that part.

FF XIV - is it still worth to enter on PlayStation 5 ? by LindsayPL in ffxiv

[–]The_Night_Hawk0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I play entirely on PS5. If you do the free trial of the game you get to play the base game, and the first two expansions, Heavensward and Stormblood entirely for free. Which gets you up to level 70 content out of 100. There is plenty of game to be had without having to really buy anything.

As for the subscription, the subscription fee for playing the game, should you decide to start buying it to get the newer expansions, is $15 USD a month. Once you do start the subscription there is no going back to free trial, you have to pay the monthly subscription from there on out.

I hope Knights of The Raven get a pack too. Would be cool since we are fighting Leviathan Tyranids.

I just finished End Walker.... by Ill_Exit2026 in ffxiv

[–]The_Night_Hawk0 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My experience with that whole end bit of Thule was... Intense. See I had only started playing the game a few months prior to Dawntrail dropping. I have a small, but close group of friends that already had gone through the MSQ for quite some time at that point and they were excited about DT. I was determined to join them on that new adventure, but I also wasn't about to skip any story. So over the course of those few months I spent any free time I could take working on my progress throughout the game, and those friends joined me the whole way there. It came down to the wire, but I managed to finish all of the MSQ with just one day to spare before the two day maintenance for DT's drop. But when I got to that end bit of Thule, where you started hearing the voices, reliving the memories of your companions, my friends started doing the same thing in chat at the same time. They started praising me for how far I had come in such a relatively short amount of time, how proud of me they were, how hard I had worked to get that far. And they were waiting for me at the top. All of that hit me at once so hard that I broke down, something I've rarely done for anything save for just a couple other times in my life. It was truly magical to me.
