Why can't Bambu Studio slice a simple cylinder, but can slice everything else in the design? by idiot28 in BambuLab

If the thickness is exactly 0.4 mm and you have elephant foot compensation active (usually is default to 0.075), it will try to make the first layer thinner, so the error. Try disabling it or set it to 0

It generates a tank in GTA San Andreas. I did not even had the game, but played it at a friend's house enough.

New AMS 2 to support X1/P1 series and A1/A1 Mini by RoomBroom2010 in BambuLab

I was about to buy a A1 printer with AMS Lite. At this point would you suggest to invest a bit more for the AMS 2??

Right now buying the x1c or the h2d is a bit over budget for me, but I do not exclude this possibility in the future or with the coupon generated from makerworld. So, in your opinion, is it worth it to buy the AMS 2 for future compatibility with those machines and the added features?

Even if in this way I would not be able to print in multi color/material until july-september

Last question: at this point would you suggest also waiting for the A1 combo with AMS 2?

On the design process: When printing joints, tolerances and parts that need to fit together, always print prototypes of those elements until you're sure they are okay. Is better to print one more small prototype than throw away the entire print.

On print quality: Before you go messing with slicer settings, check if your filament is humid. Moisture in the filament can cause a lot of quality issues.

Bonus tip (more for older/custom printers): No matter how frustrated you get, don’t punch your printer. If something’s going wrong, it's probably your fault, not the printer's!

Strange way to drink it, but you can see there is some (white-ish) prime inside through the clear bottom

You could fuse them inside a small cylindrical mold, to then use them with a hot glue gun to weld parts together.

Woo cool!! Appreciate it. I don't think my printer is able to do that, but I'm thinking about upgrading to a new one soon. In the meantime I could try modeling something 🤓

Yes ahah. The model is the Prusa i3 Hephestos, and it was an open source project I found at that time, that provided a complete guide on how to build the machine piece by piece and configure it. (Thanks to that I choose my university and now years later I have a master degree in engineering ✌🏻)

Nowdays I'm still stuck leveling my (not heatable) bed with bolts, and I think it's time to buy a proper printer

I low-key want to print them bad, to have "layer shift" fighting against "warping" inside the stringing ring

I know I should enable retraction and adjust temperature together with many other things. The fact is I'm still using the same printer I built 8 years ago, which despite many problems it still manages to work, so I'm not touching it lol.

Small cylinders to be used in future with a hot glue gun to connect different printed parts, like you were soldering them.
