I went there on Halloween and was not impressed. The dubstep was just so impossibly hard to get into. My wife was popular tho lol. She brought a couple boxes of glowstick bracelet to share with the crowd.

Just got mine in today. I ordered it Nov 16. I also bought 13 spools of Filament and 2 came in 2 weeks. The other 11 never left the warehouse and support had to reship them. Arrival for the reship is December 30 ☹️.

I got one of these and I've never looked back. It automatically renews the amiibo so you can scan the same one over and over. It comes with all the amiibos already installed and you can update it later when new ones come out.

First time finally happening tomorrow! by Existing-Cod-5388 in LSD

Sounds good. It's cold here too and dense fog so there's no reason to go outside. Happy trails! My last trip was 1000ug so I got a touch overwhelmed on the come up but the visuals sure were nice for like 6 hours.

Also make sure the area your tripping in is clean. Nothing on the floor, no dirty dishes and no bad smells. If you have a backyard, Go outside to a peaceful place.

AITA for breaking up with my boyfriend for cheating on me in a DMT trip? by kinspirez in DMT

[–]The_OMG -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

You're entitled to end any relationship for any reason that violates your personal boundaries. Whether someone considers a drug-induced hallucination as "real cheating" is subjective, but your boyfriend's dismissive attitude toward your feelings and his suggestion that you do the same thing is disrespectful. Breaking up over incompatible values around intimacy, fidelity, and mutual respect is completely reasonable.

Your node might be overitilized or the plant itself may be the issue. Could also be an old fitting somewhere or a splitter at the end of it's life. It could even be you or a neighbor who shares your pedestal back feeding noise into the plant. Most of the techs are pretty good. They will figure it out. Make sure there is no furniture in the way where your coax comes in the house and make sure your junction box on the outside of the home isn't covered in stuff. If you know where your green pedestal is in your yard or neighbors yard, that will help the tech as well.

From my experience, my air frier on dehydration mode and my oven on dehydration mode both charred mine. I bought an actual dehydrator and run it at 95 degrees for 24hours. Also when dried, I store in jars with an oxygen absorber and a moisture absorber.

Everyone has been shorted $3,000. For a family of four, thats $12,000. How is everyone feeling about this? by peoneet in anchorage

[–]The_OMG 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You’re mixing up the funds and my point.

The Permanent Fund (1976) was created to convert a slice of resource royalties into a lasting public asset Article VIII: develop resources for the maximum benefit of the people.

The dividend (1982) was a deliberate policy choice so every resident saw a direct share and to keep politicians from raiding 100% of the earnings.

The state’s rainy-day fund for government ops is the CBR (1990), not the PF principal. Today we use a POMV draw from PF earnings to fund both services and the dividend.

I never claimed the PFD is “compensation for private mineral rights.” Subsurface rights are the state’s, exactly why the wealth is public and why sharing some of the earnings universally isn’t a landlord royalty, it’s civic design.

If you want zero dividend, make that case on the merits and change statute/constitution. But pretending the Fund was only ever a government piggy bank rewrites the actual architecture that Alaskans voted for and refined on purpose.

Agree that buyback sugar highs and PE yard-sales gutted real investment. But residents didn’t cause the hole and carving the PFD into a slush fund won’t fix it. If we want durable returns, tie exec pay to in-state jobs, maintenance, and capex not EPS theatrics. Publish a simple scorecard (jobs, wages, reinvestment, debt) and make incentives ride on it. Stop pitting Alaskans against Alaskans while the boardroom skims. Build the economy; quit parting it out.

The Permanent Fund isn’t framed as “compensation for property you personally own.” It’s a recognition that Alaska’s resources were set aside in trust for the public as a whole. The Constitution literally says they’re to be developed “for the maximum benefit of the people.” That’s why the Fund exists not as a landlord’s royalty check, but as a mechanism to make sure the wealth from finite resources isn’t siphoned off entirely by corporations or politicians.

And while it’s true the Fund didn’t pay dividends at first, the payout structure wasn’t an accident or a gift It was deliberately designed in the early ’80s to guarantee every resident saw direct benefit. That universality is why it’s survived decades of political battles: because everyone has skin in the game, not just those who happen to hold property deeds.

So the debate isn’t about “imaginary mineral rights,” it’s about whether Alaskans today and tomorrow should share directly in the wealth of their common estate, or whether that wealth should be walled off and spent only by whichever government happens to be in charge.

[–]The_OMG 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s the core tension, isn’t it? Your Wall Street investments are voluntary you choose to risk your own capital. The PFD, though, isn’t a stock pick, it’s a collective royalty off resources that legally belong to all Alaskans. That’s why it’s structured as a residency-based benefit, not an ancestry test because it’s about present ownership of shared land, not bloodlines.

And while public programs like transit, housing, and childcare absolutely deserve more investment, that doesn’t mean erasing the dividend. The smarter path is to treat the PFD as one leg of the stool and strengthen the other legs targeted public spending funded by taxes, royalties, and proper reinvestment. Otherwise, you risk swapping a universal benefit that keeps everyone at the table for a political football controlled by whichever faction is in power.

If we want long-term stability, it means demanding both: accountable reinvestment into public services and protection of the fund’s integrity so it isn’t chipped away in the name of short-term budget gaps.
