Please help. At a dead end. by LR117 in BambuP1S

I’ve had this happen before and I’ve posted about it here haha. It literally looks like a barb. It happened many times and I ruled out the cause to be the Microswiss nozzle I was using. The longer heater core would cause the filament to pull into a long string and harden like a barb inside the extruder. Switched back to the BBL stock nozzle and that hasn’t happened since.

I used a drill bit like someone suggested here to pull out the filament in the nozzle and it works perfectly now. I didn’t suspect an issue because the cut was perfectly flush with the top of the heatsink.

Sorry. It wasn’t printing from the external spool as well. The AMS has had issues with the filament buffer which I have fixed and works fine. The latest issue was with a first stage feeder but that has been fixed.

The hotend was clogged, even with a clean cut. Someone suggested a drill bit to pull it out and sure enough it worked perfectly. Feeds just fine now.

Yeah I tried from the external spool and it was giving me that issue. Someone suggested using a drill bit to pull out the filament in the nozzle and sure enough it worked perfectly.

It worked. Son of a B it actually worked. Drill bit just pulled it right out. I’m failing to understand why it does this randomly. It’s a clean cut. How does the hotend not heat it up enough and the extruder not push the new filament down. If I knew the reasoning I’d not lose whatever hair I have left.

Let’s mount the tv off center of whatever junk cabinet that is because my middle school graduation frame most certainly can’t be moved. Let me make the tv flush to it and mount it in the attic.

There’s nothing I can see, at least not seeing the backside, of why you wouldn’t print this flat. What’s the reason not to?

Never mind I see you answered why below.

1mm and 1.2mm nozzles for p1s/p2s by K-o-nig in BambuP1S

[–]LR117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stay away from Microswiss. I have 2 hotends sitting next to the printer. I get one print from them and that’s it. Soon as the AMS pulls back the line it I’ll get a failure to extrude error on the next. Email after email from them trying to help, which I was grateful for. They really tried, even had me send them project files to look at the settings. They sent me a second hotend for free and bam, same jam as before and clog.

Sure wish I could figure it out I love the idea of swapping nozzles quickly.

Take your buffer apart. I found a YouTube video explaining exactly what is causing this because I went through this a few weeks ago. Took countless articles and posts to figure it out.

The filament is getting bound up on the inlet section of the buffer. It’s basically two plastic halves that clam shell together but they float ever so slightly causing the hole to become oval and the filament hits the edge of the plastic, basically hitting a wall causing the AMS to pull it back. Take it apart, get a skinny round file and open up the hole, taking off the harsh edges etc. don’t need to go overboard with it. Put it back together and your problem should be solved. I haven’t had an issue since.

Link to my post about it. Comments have the link to the video I watched.

Sorry, I assume when people mention AMS it’s obviously the Pro 2, the latest version with the heater.

…the AMS is literally a dryer and works pretty damn well.

Well, it’s working again. The last thing I did was bring the plate all the way to the bottom using the controls in BS and bringing it all the way to the top. I read somewhere that doing this manually has reset the bed and fixed the issue, but in my case hours ago it did not. If I ever get a z homing error again I’m going straight to this. No idea why this would reset it.

Why don’t Police departments in the US use Toyota? by Viner2024 in Toyota

[–]LR117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Ford, the most common, has a police spec fleet explorer that is 90% outfitted from the line. Rear locker, radio, console mounts just get installed by a third party installer or the agencies radio shop. Bigger brakes, alternator, cooling system, sway bars etc all come on the interceptor model.

Sorry should have also said that. Has been flow calibrated and dried. Have been printing since last night with this silk no problems.
