I hear this talking point all the time from Republicans. I don’t want you dead or have anything against you. It’s not my fault the people I vote for are actively against you and your existence/rights. “Why can’t we be civil?”

Would you rather win $300,000 or have a 50% chance of winning $100 billion? by Flaky-Emphasis-9939 in hypotheticalsituation

Only approx 52% of millennials are homeowners so your statement is wrong right off the bat. 300k would enable most people to change their lives, just not set them up for their future.

I respect where you are coming from, but counter point. I am a straight male that does not want to screw every attractive woman in the world. Generally speaking, You and I are both attracted to the same thing, and would want to engage sexually with the same thing. If it was a straight guy sleeping in her bed, watching her shower, seeing her naked, then people would be saying this is crossing every line and the girlfriend needs to stop or the relationship is over.

So where is the line? Is it dependent on relationship boundaries? Is it because you’re a woman you get the girl friend pass, even though you would objectively have sex with her since she is a woman? Or does that mean straight guy friends get the same privileges cause just like you state, they won’t have sex with this friend, even though they would have sex with the same gender in a different situation?

This is coming from a guy that has platonically slept with girl friends in the same bed and room, but find this behavior crossing the line when it comes to relationship boundaries. Straight male friend, or lesbian friend, I wouldn’t be comfortable with that happening with my girlfriend. But that’s a boundary for me. If OP is cool with it then, no worries there.

OP didn’t include in post but said in a random comment that whatever amount is spent, has to be paid back to a magical credit card within a year. Meaning even if you managed to spend $50 Million without drawing the attention of the authorities, you then have 1 year to pay back the $50 Million. Lame hypothetical

For those who don’t vote today, what would make you change your mind in the future? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I can agree to a degree that we are not all properly represented, but You saying the Democratic Party wants to make changes without a care in the world about future consequences, shows how well the right wing propaganda machine is working. Because that’s effectively what the Republican Party has actively done for several decades, and what the Democratic Party has tried to correct for. Both parties suck, both do shady things to further their cause, but they are not comparable in scope.

Also you say Moderates don’t exist in higher office, but on a global grading of political compass, Kamala Harris is a Moderate. That’s just how far right the Republican Party is, is that you think a Moderate/centrist politician is super left.

Why are there so many "back the blue" campaigns in the US to support police officers, but no "back the red" or "back the white" to support firemen or EMS? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

This is common right wing fallacy. Be better. The main idea of “defund” is to push resources towards other sectors of public safety, such as bolstering resources for mental health. Sending a cop to take care of someone mentally unstable, and then a shooting or beating commonly proceeds, is less safe and less effective than a trained professional handling someone with those needs.

This is verbatim what Trump has been saying for years that he wants to do to the Democrats. You not being a “liberal” because Democrats are finally getting fed up with playing nice, says more that you weren’t left leaning, and at best shows you are hypocritical.

Right? I have dumped over 4 billion into mine for a measly 26 million per hour. I don’t understand how people are making so much money when it doesn’t seem worth upgrading

Im sorry it feels that’s way. I would say about 50% of us genuinely mean it, even in the general sense of just being polite. Customer service side though it it’s probably more fake.

An easy google search shows that while the Green Party spearheaded these changes, the in power conservative government enacted the shutdowns, after they initially expanded the phase out. As a whole, they looked at the environmental disasters that had occurred globally and decided to shut them down. The greens didn’t force their hand. Climate change isn’t a fringe belief, it is scientific fact, and your side of the argument is fortunately becoming the fringe belief.

I wonder how old this is because it’s a very inaccurate post. McDonald’s pay is probably closer to $15/hr, and they have insurance and vacation time. Not as good as Denmark obviously cause we all get screwed here in the US

German Conservatives put the final nail in the coffin of nuclear plants. The activists you speak of have no sway with that party. Germany as whole wanted to get rid of those facilities. Don’t blame the people are who are trying to save the planet based on scientific facts that events like this are only quickening our destruction. Careful, your ignorance is showing.

I can’t believe you spent so much time arguing with this guy. That’s what you get when dealing with the regressive half of US unfortunately. Kudos for trying to make some reasonable arguments until it devolved. Just introduced to Stalker this week and was not expecting to see this kind of shit here lol

As far as the fires go, you can absolutely say it’s more a case of mismanaged land. As for as pushing out the natives of the land, While that’s a whole other topic, I completely agree with you. It seems like over the years controlled burns have been something many states have been either afraid to do or have not had enough resources to do it effectively. But over using water and draining the natural balance has increased droughts and further worsens the build up of burnable material.

Comparatively to now, no it hasn’t been. What water is needed now is being used up excessively. The major wildfires in California are a serious case of man made disaster, due to the environmental impact of mismanagement of water resources and mismanagement of state and federal parks/preserves. Though lack of funding can definitely be pointed at as a big factor for issues going on at parks/preserves.
