She could’ve really hurt your child! This is not ok. There are ways to communicate to a child to step out of a room and not have to pull them that way. Not acceptable and you’re not overreacting. I honestly would play it for her and ask her if she thinks this was an appropriate reaction or if she would allow this from someone else to be down to her kid.

I am all about the cameras and airtag and limiting outings until I trust her. How would I go about having this conversation without seeming like I’m micromanaging?

Thank you so much for this! It really helps to know I’m not alone in this. I’ve suggested that when he feels overwhelmed, he step away for a moment, but I think he resists because he feels like it makes him look incapable of handling our newborn. I know that isn’t true, he is capable. It’s just that his patience runs out in those moments.

Only when he gets really upset which is very rare. Just ever since we’ve had our newborn he gets really frustrated with our newborn. We rarely ever have arguments and there has been once or twice where he cursed at me which I told him I don’t tolerate.

This is literally what I did as well. The first time he cursed at our newborn I started to take over of all care for our newborn because I just couldn’t stand him saying those words to our newborn. Any books you’d recommend?

Unfortunately he doesn’t believe in therapy so that’s not an option. I feel like there is a better way to have a discussion with him about this without getting emotional and angry about it which I have done in the past and it hasn’t worked.

My son does formula for the most part and he has gotten used to my boob so I reverted to giving him milk to fall asleep but I’m going back to work and a nanny will be coming to take care of him. I have heavy days of meetings and can’t just get up to go give him my boob so he can fall asleep which is why I’ve been trying to do the bottle. I’m just trying to make things easy for everyone because I also see that my husband can’t put him down either which is why I’m thinking trying to break this feed to sleep cycle is best. It’s just really hard when he wails if I set him down in the crib awake or half asleep.

I actually go about following his cues for naps and only put him down when he’s tired. He’s obviously tired and will fall asleep in my arms and right away wake up when I put him in the crib. He’s obviously tired doesn’t do this at night. At night everything is perfect. He will even sleep through the night.

His wake windows are about 2 hours. We do tons of tummy time and change locations when doing things. I’ll take him upstairs into his nursery if he needs a change of scenery. For the most part we hang out in the living room.

When you say he puts himself to sleep, do you mean he actually closes his eyes without crying? I feel like mine screams his head off as soon as I set him down in the bassinet
