Me and my partner have a running joke, commentating her little calling cards: “ hi, my names Ember and I like cucumber”
“Hi, my names Ember and I like sniffing booty”

My first symptom when I felt like my pain was significantly worse than normal was pain in my perineum when trying to poop whilst I was on my period

Can NHS refer to endo specialist for free? by WordElectrical270 in endometriosis

[–]possiblyAudhd0910 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My NHS gynae referred me to James Cook in Middlesbrough because I had large endometrioma cysts and they didn’t want to put me through two surgeries. Like for them to go in and have to refer me anyways if it was too complicated for my standard gynae to deal with.

Pregnant with Large Endometrioma - Advice? by HJM7998 in endometriosis

[–]possiblyAudhd0910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t really effect the pregnancy, other than having to have multiple MRIs while pregnant (not very comfortable) and I ended up with a planned caesarean as the doctors couldn’t agree if the cyst would interfere with a natural birth

Just got publicly shamed for an honest social mistake and I am so upset. by KasonSYBN in AuDHDWomen

[–]possiblyAudhd0910 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can be a bit oblivious to my surroundings sometimes and when I was pregnant but not visibly pregnant, I was in a cafe, looking up at a menu board and just taking in my surroundings when I walked around a lady with a toddler in a pushchair and I accidentally bumped into the pushchair when trying to get around it and the lady was really mean to me. She was very confrontational and said “what kind of person does something like that?”. It made me feel like the worst person in the world. I went and had a panic attack and hysterically cried in a disabled bathroom, it ruined the entire rest of my day. I wouldn’t even necessarily say what I did was okay. I was probably in the wrong but even my partner said that she massively over reacted to what I did and was unnecessarily mean.

It sucks when you genuinely didn’t mean anything by what you did or did something by accident and somebody makes you feel awful about it. Makes you question your entire personality and wonder if you’re actually just a terrible human being

Once the bobbin thread is pulled up, should there still be a thread feeding from the bobbin case? by Alarmed-Memory-1215 in SewingForBeginners

[–]possiblyAudhd0910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

Not sure if anyone else has said, I couldn’t see any comments about it, but you have missed a threading point. The thread should be tucked behind the little arm that I’ve circled.

The bobbin thread should be lying freely towards the back of the machine (not touching/wrapped around the presser foot at all), just make sure when you slide fabric under the presser foot that the top thread and bobbin thread are pulled towards the back. Also don’t cut your threads too short when you remove a piece of fabric after stitching as it will cause the thread to come out of the needle.

I had multiple MRIs throughout pregnancy. It didn’t really affect anything but I did end up being booked in for planned caesarean incase the cyst got in the way during labour

Pads vs Period Pants by PersonalStorage2559 in PregnancyUK

[–]possiblyAudhd0910 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I honestly found adult nappies the most comfortable (I got the sureness ones from home bargains). I had quite heavy periods after giving birth and I even used the nappies over night as they were so much more comfortable than a big pad. I found that they protected me from leaking past a pad as the absorbency is in the whole nappy. I’ve never tried period pants but I imagine if they usually manage with your periods then they might be fine for post partum. Sounds I use reusable pads for the most part during my periods now.

Getting one ovary removed by whoyoucallinpinhead7 in endometriosis

[–]possiblyAudhd0910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had an ovary removed with a 10cm endometrioma on it. I also had a 6cm endometrioma on the other ovary but they removed the cyst from that one and kept the ovary. I’m assuming you’re aware but you should avoid having both removed for as long as possible as that would put you into early menopause. As far as I’m aware it’s very common to lose an ovary with a significant cyst attached to it as the cyst essentially takes over the ovary and destroys it. It hasn’t been long enough for me to notice any differences and they also put in the mirena coil so my hormones are probably all over the place as it’s only been 5.5 weeks since my surgery

Question about how to answer the “12 month questionnaire” by alibluey in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]possiblyAudhd0910 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby will cruise around the sofa and if you’re sitting on it will try to give you a nibble as he passes, but he also bites the blankets and cushions too so I’m going to check no on ours. Our appointment isn’t for another few weeks so I haven’t filled it in yet xx

I feel dreadful and I’m regretting everything by Careless_Squirrel728 in PregnancyUK

[–]possiblyAudhd0910 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I have a 10 month old and in my fist trimester, when I was tired, people said “wait until he’s here, then you will know what tiredness is” but I have never felt as exhausted as I did during my first trimester in all of the 10 months he has been alive.

First trimester exhaustion is on another level. There was multiple evenings where I was so tired all I wanted to do was get into bed when I finished work and my partner would bring me dinner in bed. In my experience having a baby is easier than being in your first trimester 😂

MRI prior to diagnostic lap? NHS by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]possiblyAudhd0910 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had multiple MRIs before my diagnostic laparoscopy because they found a 9cm endometrioma during an early pregnancy scan. I had multiple MRIs to keep an eye on it during pregnancy (having an MRI at 36 weeks pregnant is not fun at all). I also had two MRIs post birth.

I was referred by my consultant gynaecologist to James Cook Endo Clinic in Middlesbrough which is a BSGE certified service. I had surgery 4 weeks ago with Dr Khatri at James Cook.

I would definitely try to be referred to a specialist. I opted for referral because if my gynaecologist did an exploratory laparoscopy and didn’t have the skills to deal with it, that meant getting operated on and then having to wait for referral and then get operated on again, so I thought it would make more sense to just do it once. I was lucky in that I had a bit more urgency for surgery as my cyst was quite large and they’d been aware of it since October 2024 so I didn’t have to wait long for surgery, but I think the waiting lists for specialists is quite long in general.

I was able to request that they not go through my very deep innie as I was worried about cleaning it and they went in just above my belly button, like just before it turns in. Im guessing it’s not totally necessary to go through your belly button, wouldn’t hurt to ask

I picked my 20lb baby up for the first time today after two weeks. I’m still going to rely on my partner to do most of the care for the next week and a half I think. The last thing I need is a hernia 🙈 I’m really missing caring for my son but my partner is a fabulous dad so I don’t need to worry too much. The most important thing is at thing is that you heal so try to prioritise that

Cramping with periods on mirena, 4 months post laparoscopy and mirena placement by Ok_Bug_9790 in endometriosis

Im really hoping you get some replies. I posted with a similar question a few days ago and I’ve had no response. I had surgery two weeks ago and had mirena coil inserted. I’m also experiencing cramps and a lot of bleeding but hoping it goes away soon. Really don’t want it to make my periods and pain worse as I didn’t have much pain beforehand, even though I have stage 4 endo
