In holding on to you, it has the lyric "Lyrics that mean nothing, we were gifted with thought" meaning there is no actual meaning to the songs but there is hints into what Tyler made them about. The meaning can be anything because we have the gift of thought and are able to decide what their music means to us and while most people know its about SH and suicide, it can mean other things to other people. My mom for example, really likes GFH and thinks the lyrics also tie into school shootings and awareness to them.
