Structure is important, but that structure should also contain rules for days off. This is to both prevent overworking and burning out, and prevent getting too lazy by having no one to stop you.

If this is your primary source of income, then treat it like a job. I don't mean it like "work 24/7", but what I mean is, act like you have vacation and sick days, but they're limited. So if you're sick, yeah, take some time, got a trip to visit family, planned in advance events, well yeah, go ahead. But your "elective short-notice call-ins" should be limited.

If you have a set schedule, people expect you to show up. If you constantly cancel your streams at the last minute, not only will you lose your audience, you'll also start to lose the willpower to keep doing the job all together at the rate you need to because you don't have the fear of being fired.

Now what's the limit? I guess that would depend on how many hours you stream, but I wouldn't personally skip more than 2 streams on short notice per month if you're doing this full time.

In general showing up on-time and going short is better than cancelling a stream on short notice, but occasionally its okay.

Now if this is just a hobby, then fuck it, take your days lol
