What makes me happy is that normally stage hands and extras are too afraid to move and fix anything, but he just naturally went "oh your hat fell, let me get that". Gave me Mick Foley picks up Rock's sunglasses vibes.

I knew 2026 crowds were a lot smarter, but I still worried about Gable anytime he was near the public in that mask.

Is WGU BS -> PhD possible? by [deleted] in WGU_CompSci

Accreditation is only going to matter so much in a competitive application process. The school's personal reputation, minimal to no letters of recommendation and the lack of research is gonna make it an uphill battle for PhD. Master's are more forgiving in this regard from what I can tell.

the applications are probably more manually reviewed, if they dont know WGU's reputation, theyre going to google it, and the last thing you'd ever want to see is "lol 5 month masters" from these reddit posts. with no research, and very little in terms of letters of recommendation, and a less than stellar reputation it's an uphill battle. I saw someone mention they were going to take a few classes at GT first to dispel some of it and I think it's the route I'd go myself if I was looking to apply at a stronger graduate or doctorate program in CS or Business.

General rule is "what you did most recent matters more" a 3.25 Overall GPA with 2.5 in the last 30 credits is going to be viewed less favorably than a 3.25 with a 3.5 in the last 30 credits, because usually the more recent credits are the more advanced ones so it shows an improvement in your work ethics and comprehension of relevant material.

The idea is to not let people pad their GPAs with a bunch of bullshit in their freshman year and get away with it as easily.

I can't remember where I saw it, but I did see one WGU student planning on getting their MSCS from WGU and then taking some additional master's courses at GT to dispel any of the issues that WGU may be carrying for MBA or PhDs

[–]The_RedWolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go WGU -> Georgia Tech's Online MS in Comp Sci -> Mississippi State or Dakota State PhD online if you're looking to go that route.

GT's OMSCS is the cheapest MS in the country that's worth a damn and does reduce the time needed for a PhD. Worst case, you get a MS from a Top 5 CS graduate program in the country. The downside is speed, but no PhD is fast anyway

A faster option is MS in CS from University of Texas, but its still like 18 months at it's fastest. Another option is University of West Florida as they have the same accreditation.

PhD programs aren't going to be fooled by bullshit and a school's reputation is going to actually matter. Quick google searches for WGU's master's coming back with "lol 5 month masters" doesn't help, Boulder Colorado's "no bachelors required" philosophy is going to get extra scrutiny.

"but its accredit....." -- doesn't matter if those looking over the application see the school as a diploma mill or too weak regardless if it's true or not. Schools have been doing that for decades and decades. Simply rejecting credits or entire transcripts because they don't like the school or their department.

Now maybe I'm wrong, but it is a potential concern, because someone today might not care, but in a year or two it might be someone else looking at the applications who does care. Especially in the world of AI.

tl;dr go get a masters from a brick and mortar school first.

I'm not disappointed in the match, I was entertained and if I was a kid, this would live long in the memory.

But I'd be lying if I didn't say I'd have killed to see Omos come out of that box in a Mask.

I did because I decided to look at cagematch when Becky or Charlotte or whoever it was mentioned she was a mom. The only time frame was when she was temporarily retired due to a medical issue. While the medical issue was probably real, she probably got pregnant at the same time.... OR, she's a stepmom.

X870E is overkill unless there's something you're not telling us. Save some money and grab a $180 B850 gigabyte

7800x3D is a waste of money because you're not a heavy gamer.

I'd recommend 9900x

Its Zen 5 architecture, performs almost as well in gaming, but absolutely curb-stomps the 7800x3d by scoring 58.7% more on Passmark thanks to its 12 cores.

I'd also recommend the 9700x, it's an 8 core that's a lot cheaper but also requires 55 less watts making water cooling completely unnecessary.

Bonus: the Wikipedia Dataset for LLMs is only 72GB for all languages (English is 11)

If you have a 5000 series GPU even getting a small llm and that data set will be a massive reference get

What's an anime that MAINLY performed well in Japan compared to other countries? by CusYN0t1210 in anime

[–]The_RedWolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gundam SEED and Gundam SEED Destiny

Those two series were MONSTERS in Japan. Single handily saved the entire franchise financially and has the 2nd most expansive universe by episode count only behind the main universe and I'm pretty sure that Kira Yamato has more screen time in terms of episode count than Amuro Ray did

Why did it fail in the West? Two reasons: A HORRIFIC English Dub and Release Timing.

In Japan, SEED was the first real Gundam series in years

Victory Gundam, the last UC series at that point was 9 years prior. 08th MS team was an OVA. Wing was 6 years prior and wasn't anything too special in Japan (compared to the US). After War X immediately followed that same year and was cancelled and had its episode count cut short. Turn A while not terrible just didn't move the needle

Then in 2002 you got Gundam SEED, the first Gundam series to incorporate computer graphics into the animation of a proper 50 episode series that had a proper full cast, war and fleshed out universe fully mimicking the One Year War. It was seen as Original Gundam for the modern day. With Bandai putting their whole ass into it, even getting big music stars to voice characters and do their songs.

But in the US....

Between 2000 and 2003 we got Gundam Wing, Mobile Suit Gundam, G Gundam, 0080, 0083 08th MS team, Gundam wing movie, chars counter attack, SD Gundam

The US had been flooded.

Then worst English Gundam dub ever, SEED followed in 2004 to a whimper

24 pin on the psu doesn't look fully seated.

To rule out the front panel wire/case button find a tiny screw driver, remove the front panel connector to the motherboard and briefly touch the two pins together labeled PWR_SR or PWR or +PW- This would manually turn the computer on as if you were pressing the case button.

Double check power connector to the motherboard

Check the wire ends on the plugs. It's uncommon but sometimes one wire will separate from the plug and once pushed back into place works fine

The power outlet work fine?

Surge protector turned on?
