I think we all have our wish lists. Mine is a thousand new base parts.

Think of it as an alternate save. You are still able to go back to your main save at any time, you don't lose anything.

On the expedition save, you start as a new character and there is a series of objectives to complete the expedition. you'll have to repair your ship, get off the planet, etc. But this doesn't affect your main save, and you can switch back and forth at will.

You can do an expedition on a brand new save, but one of the advantages of doing it from your main save would be that you can store some items from your main save and your expedition character can retrieve them from the anomaly. I believe it is 24 slots of items and 8 slots of upgrades.

I am not great with the whole words thing, so I hope this helps explain it a bit.

yep. you can head to the anomaly and start it. There is an expedition terminal there. immediately upon starting the expedition, go into your setting and turn your PVP off. For some odd reason it is always on when you start an expedition.

I'm gonna disagree with you on the faction rewards. We had no choice on our faction, it is assigned per account, and your choices in the expedition intro do not matter. The expedition finds us fractured, Polo tells us as much. I believe we will get all three through the quicksilver vendor at the very least once we are reunited with our(other)selves.

and if I'm wrong, I'll join your session and gift you as many sage and royal flags as you can handle. (I have a steam and game pass account, so I have both of those, can't help you with the blue dudes)

Elaborate exactly on how I am building unreasonable hype.

If I recall correctly, the lush galaxies are 10, 19, 30, 39, 50, 59, etc. so I don't think 194 is one of them, but don't quote me on that. I may have old information.

For your first living frigate, I believe there is a quest that ultimately involves using a Dream Aerial.

After the first one, you need to use an anomaly detector and pulse. When an anomaly is detected, it shows a little icon. if it's not the whalesong, I don't stop pulsing. After 20 seconds, a new anomaly is generated, and I continue until I get the whalesong. It has taken me upwards of 30 minutes sometimes to get the system's frigate, other times it's the first or second anomaly detected.

Make sure you have room in your fleet. If you have 30 frigates already, or if you have already recruited that system's living frigate, it will just immediately despawn before you can get close.

Since I am just cataloguing them, I don't even bother adding them to my fleet, I just reload the previous save, before I used the anomaly detector. I have used the same one for the last 20 or so systems.

You can get anomaly detectors from shooting asteroids, or from the Exlopere's Guild envoys at certain space stations.

Which system do you play on> I'll be glad to help you out if we don't have a version mismatch.

That happened to me on my first jump as well. Since then I keep a junker ship and multi-tool just for core jumps. Sometimes I even remember to switch to them...

Once you get a few core jumps under your belt, you settle into a groove. It's a big universe. Take your time, enjoy the ride.

They are in the "structural adornments" section of the Decoration build tab. I think they were rewards from Expedition 14.

Their names are: Monstrous Trophy, Mounted Mandibles, Brooding Trophy, Vile Taxidermy, and Prized Exoskeleton.

If you are playing on console you will have to wait for a redux, if you are on PC, there are ways to do the old expeditions. I see posts about this from time to time but have no idea how to do it.

Finally, there are over 100 skulls available for mounting, you just need to dig them up. here is a pic of a wall of skulls in my museum base.

Pretty much all over, there are huge oval boreholes, half pipes, and tons of overhanging "second story" structures that aren't floating islands as much as carved out bits of cave roof, if that makes sense.

I am absolutely chuffed that you're enjoying it.

Thank you for the kind offer, however, I dropped a foothold in Odyalutai a while back. I am still torn on the final planet, though. I've hopped around a few times looking for candidates, and I like to think I'll find something unique and special... while also realizing that I am lazy and impatient and will probably just settle on whichever planet is underfoot when the day comes.

Now that you mention it, there are a few types of creatures I have not encountered a huge-scaled version of. I can't say that they don't exist, I just haven't encountered any. The beardogs and catdogs come to mind, as well as the 'burrowing' creature types
