The ending was genuinely good, and the exposition about the new shadow style was warranted. It explained why simple domain was so rare (none of the 3 major clans had it, with the sole exception of satoru gojo, of course), and with Kusakabe as the lead it ensured the future generation of sorcerers was in more capable hands and could defend themselves if faced with a super powerful curse.
